240sx help?

jus bought my first '91 model 240sx a couple weeks ago...its def. a project!

one issue i'm having is the IAC valve, idle sucks. previous owner has taking it apart before and cleaned it and said it worked for a little while... then tried turning the screw on it to adjust air flow. bad idea?now that i have it, i adjusted the screw to best idle but still not great. I have a feeling i will have to replace the whole thing and hopefully fixes that problem, right?idles around 700 to 1000rpm.other issue is when i get going its fine until i gain speed and switch gears, it tends to bogg and then catch like its not wanting to fire right or the air and gas mixture/flow is off... could this be part of the IAC valve or something else?

i am very new at this and would really like anyones help!
