If there wasn't a 1 to 100 ratio of intelligent thoughts to inane stupidity it would make it easier to moderate.

Moving more then half the threads wouldn't even begin to start cleaning up this place. You all need to act like you're at least old enough to drive. Of course with our current culture that's hard to do, seeing as 18yos are taught to behave as 14yos. But seriously, if you want to see the forum how it used to be, help us out. Stop acting like stupid selfish teenagers, and grow up!

Sure that may sound a little harsh, but seriously, is that not the truth?

You can all start to help out by helping us. Shoot us an IM when you see something is happening that shouldn't be.You'll be like a mod, without the title and obligations. Also, you are a little new to the forum for being a mod... you have under 300 posts.

I can help out with moderating if you guys want. I've ran a forum before so I know what to do. As for the whole "being more mature" part, I can do that. I know I'm mature, I can just be a little bit borderline immature at points, but surely I'll clean that up. Most of the time when I'm on here, I lurk the 240 Gen section, the classifieds, or the Learned'd thread. Honestly, I think I would make a pretty good mod. Of course this is obviously not my decision so I'll just sit over here *grabs a seat on the couch* and wait to see what happens.

This is the main issue with 240 GC. People have to remember that this forum in particular is ground zero for new people with 240s or people that are looking to get into the 240 world. So you're going to have reposts ad naseum. You're going to see people who post up completely misinformed threads, or ask a question repeatedly.

...

What truly makes 240 GC the pit it is today is the backlash from members to the noobness that gets funneled in. We have people who come in, ask a question that could be searched for, and then they get flamed and harassed.

...

All I ask for is that our older members try to help out the newer people in a constructive way. Instead of saying "search noob", just say "try searching for -topic here-". If the OP comes back and says I can't find it using those keywords, but you found his answer with the same keywords on the first page of results, then you can be a little agitated.

Hijacker and Dj Button pwn all.

I also find it funny that people are asking to help moderate.... .... god knows that if any of you guys that are asking to be a moderator will start power tripping like none other.

Honestly, I wouldn't power trip too much. I'd power trip for the first few days, then realize that I am a mod and I know my duties. Trust me, I know what it's like.

I wouldn't go as far as presuming that all persons interested are ripe for power trips, but you make a fair point.

Sorry if i made it seem like that i presumed that everyone would be ripe for that lol... without a doubt, im sure not everyone would abuse that position

Then again, if one were to become a moderator. especially for 240 gen...they would need to have a lot of tolerance and patience to deal with just half of the posts and threads that are on here lol (im just assuming here)

We're currently fully staffed. We have a list of who's naughty and nice for those who wish to be on staff or show enough initiative to do things on there own.

We have more 240 Mods then any other. Mostly becaause most of us started with the 240 and progressed from there. Although lately, we've been over run with Altima and G35 losers...I mean enthusiasts.

We dont need more moderators. we just need the "senior" members to handle noob posts, reposts, dumb questions etc etc... handle them with maturity. guide new members in the right directon kind of like a father figure

hey I was wondering if you guys can move my thread to general,( zer...55840) because I was originally talking about a 240, but since I'm not going to be getting it, talk in the thread has changed to other cars.Unless it's fine in this forum, then nevermind.

No, that thread is already way too long for anyone to read start to finish... just make a new thread.

Ill be honest i was just too lazy to post my thread else where. My mistake. I try to just keep my mouth shut, read, and learn but sometimes i get a little wound up and i dont think before i post. This is the only forum that is really informative and helps a lot. The honda and mitsu forums were definately not as organized or well kept as this one. So ya ill keep my mouth shut unless its something important.

Technical discussions for OG's can be had in 240sx technical. There should be no noob posts in that forum. If there are, mods need to move them to 240gen.

I've been trying to be nicer to them or just keep my mouth shut. But it feels good to be helpful too.

Seems like this post is in the wrong area should b in general chat. There seems to b a problem with posting in general chat, when it has nothing to do with the 240sx, ka24de etc etc etc. The moderators seem are controlled by the members that think a post isn't cool or not their's. If this site is meant for new owners of 240's or nissan vehicles, why is it that the already owners of these talk s*** flame and get newbies post locked. Is it the higher number of posts that allows you to break the rules and get away with it?

People have to learn to calm down. I have been on this forum for years and Nicoclub just isn't the comfortable environment it used to be. The wealth of knowledge that is available is fantastic but there are far too many members that are quick to blow a gasket over none sense such as accidentally posting in the wrong section or even noobish questions. When you are a part of a community as large as this you have to learn to accept that a question or post that you have seen a million times may have never been seen by others. If searchable, then politely tell them so or ignore it if it really makes you that annoyed. It is not the noob questions or accidental posts that clutter this site but the persistent whining that follows from some members.

THANK YOU AT LEAST ONE PERSON ON NICO UNDERSTANDS! Plus you got the one's who make cracks bout spelling and/or grammar, most the time it's real late and I'm real tired, so I try my best nobodys perfect. Just the NICO members with over hundreds of post. And I search before any post to make sure, it always says no results found. I've found my post thru the search bar and found them so I know it works. This guy should b a mod 4 sure, he's not partial to one side. Nice FB too:bigthumb
