I'll try to remember the next time I'm under the car with decent lighting. It has a McKinney downpipe fyi.

Little bit of an update. I am way behind on my latest round of upgrades as I've been insanely busy with work, but I just purchased some 20mm spacers a few minutes ago.

Two pairs of these puppies will be going on the car early next week:

Oh man, this really just made my freakin' day. Perfect fit, and when it's lowered here by an inch when the alignment is done...

Sorry that she's all dirty, but I can't wash it until I finalize the welding in the rear and paint over the bare metal.

Here's a pic of the clearance. It's not even that close to the shaft, as you can see the boot in the top left of the photo.

A few other pictures of the car to see how mean the stance is... look at it from the rear!

Get those damn flare painted. It'll look stellar!

Hehe yeah, it's pretty tall right now. I need to slam it.

Yep, the spacers widen the track of my chassis, thus lowering my center of gravity. It should help to keep the car flat in the corners.

Thanks! All business, indeed. It's a purpose-built car.

I got the ZG flares from Classic Datsun. The guy that answers the phone is cool and the flares they provided were great.

You have no idea how badly I'd like to tour the road courses out in your neck of the woods. Hopefully in the next two years I'll be able to plan a trip to do some NASA events.

Hmm... I'd have to ride with you in your car first... just to make sure you had the skillz and what not. :P

Flares will be color matched soon!

I like my projectors, though.

After checking the front steering clearance, it looks like I'm going to have to use the good old hammer on a few spots. No worries, though.

p.s. Does anyone have a recommended torque for wheels and spacers like mine? I torqued the spacer nuts down to 100 ft lbs, and the wheels to 75 ft lbs.

Sorvia you are missing the point. Why put a rb26dett in a 240sx if you're planning on street driving it only? It's a serious engine only for serious roads or tracks IMO. +1 for even ditching the windsheild wiper motor. I love it, because I would love a track slut coupe someday as well.

And I was guessing at least 10k. Nice price considering how new and spotless everything is. I love it, but I'd rather build it. Props on the find though.

Nice new look. Great idea with the wheel spacers. PSM/PBM FTMFW! Ask dcdan what torque to use

I do my wheels to 90 ft lbs.

I believe the FSM states 80 ft lbs.

80 minimum.

To be honest, it's a much better motor for straight-line fun. It's pretty heavy, thus handicapping me through the twisties. I'd go for an LS1 or SR20 if I could have comparable or better power. The SR would shave about 200 lbs...

Well, I beat the crap out of a few spots in the front fender wells with a 2.5 lb. mallet yesterday because I wasn't really clearing with the wheels turned.

After about 30 mins or so of sound disturbance for my neighbors, both fronts fully cleared by a good amount at all positions.

My car now has the ability to fully grip in second gear...

The noise it produces is truly insane. When I get up to 5000+ rpm it just rips!

How much does the RB engine+ tranny weight?

I thought KA engine + tranny is like 320+110 or something like that.

I don't know exactly, but I believe it's somewhere in the 650-700lbs range.

A fully dressed RB26 (w/ 26 oil pan) + RB25 Transmission = ~735lbs
