Anyone know were I can get/download a cam card for a stock KA24E engine? The local dealer parts department, well ---- they just sell parts if ya know what I mean.I need to dial the cam in after I do a head gasket. The aftermarket chain has NO marks on it so I need to go the degree wheel deal to make sure its correct the first time out.

Thanks Everyone

I don't have the cam specs, but you can look at the FSM (www.nico.com/fsm) and count the links on the diagram and transfer them to your new chain.

Yea, could do that if the timeing cover was removed. also, there were No marks on the chain. As a retired wrench, have done alot of tricks over the years to make things work. In this case, my gut tells me that either the damper or the cam gear mark was a Monday or friday production part LOL, and could be off several degrees. Long story short, use a degree wheel and check to make sure its correct. This last one I just picked up from ebay 20 bucks had it at my door. Its put out by Summit Race, it has more bolt paterns then all the others I found, any way thanks.

hmmm. Not sure where you can get one, but I know what you are talking about. Ive never done a chain on a KA without pulling the front cover. Both times Ive done chains on my cars, Ive had the motor out.

Did you check to see if someone put the chain on backwards? Sometimes the marks are only on the inside. Ive run into this on the Chrysler 3.5 more than once.

Well, its kinda the first thing I remember when I bought the chain set from the Import only dealer. It was one of the things I had done before the engine went in. Had a friend do it as too busy at work at the time. Guess I'll have to try the dealer again and ask if there books go back 90 - 97 hardbody trucks werein they still used the KA24E. thanks
