S30. I have not had a chance to drive a 370Z but I'm sure it outperforms my 240Z in almost every category ;) . Mine has no power steering, no AC, no ABS, no power brakes. It still pegs out the fun meter when driving. That's what it's about for me anyway.

Mmm, I'm willing to drive anything Nissan has to offer as long as it has intelligent key and no CVT.

Bonus if it comes with a copy of the 80s best hits.

I voted 370. I love the 240z, it's a beautiful car. But I think the 370 is one of the best looking Z's to date. I LOVE the styling. As for power and handling. For the kind of money we're talking about you could take the drivetrain right out of the 370 and put it in the 240. But then comes the handling. I'm sure that with our budget, you could get the 240 to handle a lot like the 370, but I doubt it would be as streetable, which for me would be a concern. I had my share of "race cars" that I drove on the street and it sucks.

I guess what I'm getting at is that if I bought a 240z, I'd spend a bunch of money trying to make it do what the 370 does out of the box. So why NOT just get the 370Z?

You would have to completely redesign the suspension geometry as the 240Z's strut setup is pretty bad. You'd also have to chop the fenders if you're going to fit 295's on it (which you can do on a stock 370). It would take significant work (engineering level), something far beyond buying a couple bolt-ons.

Not shocking.I think it's a function of age. 240Z was popular with us baby boomers back in th 70's. It was long out of production and the 240Sx was on sale by the time Xdisasters generation came up.

There should have been a third choice....BOTH. I'd love an original 240z for a weekend play car, but for daily use, I'd go for the much more civilized 370Z. :bigthumb:
