from what I've heard others say, the s15 is good around the 300rwhp range, not much more than that.

Heh, doubt it.

I haven't researched it yet, that guy at Motorex just said it was a good one to go with, and the guy has two SR20 240's in his garage, so I tend to believe what he says.

BuudWeizErr, are you still running stock boost? Or was that just the boost you were set at when you ran a 14.49?

That turbo is too small for Nils needs IMHO. The smaller the turbo, the more heat generated and b/c he plans on doing mostly track events, something larger would be safer.

not to hijack this post or anything, but can somebody give a bit more specific info about the S15 turbo? With my project I am only shooting for about 275 or so to the wheels and would like to retain a stock look to the motor. I also want a relatively inexpensive turbo that spools fast because, like Nils, I will be doing lots of track events and autocrosses (I only live 10 minutes from Texas World Speedway :)) and I can't deal with the lag. I am going to use an MKIV Supra TT Intercooler and make custom hardpipes to replace the pooptastic stock plastic (wow that rhymes...) All I do know is the T2small will still keep me about 35ish horsepower away from where I want to be.

Then why did you hijack it? you would be much better off searching or atleast starting a new thread called s15 turbo questions or something. I'd be mighty pissed if you hijacked my thread : ) so i wont hurt nils by going into it on his thread. Just start your own, ya know?

The s15 t28 is a waste of money IMO.

If you could get an S15 turbo for $300-$400...then I wouldn't think it's a waste. I can't see spending any more $ for such a minor boost in performance.

LOL, good point Jesse. BTW, I come from J-body land and paying $800 for an extra 40 hp is a real bargain :) The blowers they have for the 2.4TC in the Z24's cost right at $2500 at the cheapest price and they only boost power from 150hp to 190hp. And even maxing out the blower will only net you about 205whp :)

Everybody, pretend I didn't say anything and continue with the original intent of the thread :D

if the s15 turbo can max out at 320 rwhp and spool as quick as stock, its worth it for me.:D

I was running 7psi when I ran that time, and I'm still running 7psi. Not ready for a boost controller yet.

Who else thinks I should make Nils paint my car too? :D ;) :pface

ha ha!

painting this car is PITA! .... it is taking more spray cans than I thought, wet sanding by hand is a biatch and now there is paint dust all over my garage... and I've only painted one fender so far.

I wont be doing this again.

Hey are you not ready for a boost controller due to lack of funds? or other reasons? Like 'breaking your engine in'...

there is no diffinitive point at where the turbo maxes out. i have heard claims of 290-340 rwhp so i was just taking a imbetweener guess. plus i dont even car about that number because all im interested in is about 275 hp for drifting and such. I like it just because its spools so quick. yeah i bought one already.

Silviagirl,I can afford a boost controller, I just don't want to up the boost yet. The engine is broken in, I don't trust myself with 225ish RWHP in a car I've only been driving for a couple months. I'm not interested in burying my car into the side of a tree because I decided to push the car a little bit more than my skill could handle. Plus I want to break into the 13's on 7psi, and I think it can be done.

Nils,I don't care, I'll paint my car primer... I don't care what it looks like right now, my decklid is going to be primered for a while when I get the wing holes and the third brakelight shaved. And whenever I get a bigger front bumper so that my intercooler gets fed more, that will be primered, but that will probably make me get some paint. hehe. Rice = NO! So when can I come to Vegas to get my car primered?
