Here in Australia, every Nissan S14 and S15 has an SR20 turbo, and every S13 either comes with a CA18 or SR20, both turbo and NA.

SR20's are rarely swapped for anything else, other than the occasional RB20 or RB25.

I get the impression that it's a "If I can't have an SR20, them no-one else should have one" sort of thing from some people...
Exactly, there is a want for everyone to be unique, however just like custom cars or custom trucks, everyone is trying to be unique but ends up being the same. It's very ironic.

I'll build my car the way I want it, regardless if thats what everyone else has on their 240, I'll still like it and thats all that really matters.

hell, i actually bought an issue of stupid street because they had an article on an engine rebuild for an SR (i just wish they hadn't gotten ahold of an S15 those bastards!). Once you put away the sex and demeaning comments (about 90% of the text) the article wasn't a bad follow of the techniques Signal Auto uses to rebuild an engine. I buy SCC primarily due to the Project Silvia articles. These articles just turn out to be nice platforms to get ideas from. Of course, it's hard to say if the new 240 craze put them in the magazines, or if the magazines started the craze. in the case of Stupid street, I'm sure they're just following the craze.

The 240sx is a dope car, sooner or later others were going to notice. Besides, the Nissan community has been growing lately, not just 240's and so the attention was innevitable. The question is who of us will outlast the fad. As long as no one tries to steal my car I will drive it every day the weather allows me to.

I plan on enjoying my car, not complaining about it. If you want something rare, drive a Yugo. Its cheap and just think about all the Geo motors you could swap in it.

Really? Motors, or is it just suspension and stuff like that? You got any links to see that?

no links unfortunately, i just know of a guy in the area who used to auto-x a yugo years ago. he just had to do a lot of custom fabbing and research to find what would fit and what wouldn't
