I gotta laugh, 19's are too small. The car came with 16" and 17" rims for christ sake. i have the 19" M45 rims with spacers, it looks awesome, handles like a dream and looks perfect with the 2" drop. 20" is the limit, but 19" is PLENTY for a car that arrived with 16" rims. You will need to get in touch with Kevin Falk to get the Tein lowering springs as without them 19 or 20's look like crap with that huge wheel gap.

You'll have to email Falkdesigns as he's no longer on this site. But if you do get Teins I suggest running 19s depending on wheels size you'll have to roll your rear fenders. 20s with Teins, I'm thinking you'll need band-aid tires and more rear camber, hell you're already into VIP Good luck either way.

I would go with 19's dropped or 20's max. Remember the drop is the key element. When I had 20's on my F50, they looked like 18's because the car sat in the air. Once I dropped it, the car looked 100x better.

I dont see why there is all this hatred for VIP. I dont think you understand the amount of work and research it takes to get the end result looking like the pics posted above. Getting wheels to the exact offset and size and rolling/pulling the fenders to make them fit flush is not that easy. Keep in mind whats flush at stock height will not be flush when dropped 4 inches. VIP is the next level of luxury car visual modifying so please dont compare it to dub style. Dub style is putting the largest wheel with generic offsets and with the most bling on a stock ride height car. Anyone can make a DuBed out car but not many can pull off a VIPed car.

Holy crap, when did we lose kevin???? I will have to e-mail him to find out what is up, but your right, 19" rims and Teins are a perfect match.

I was shocked at many of the nasty replies to mccrews Impul post. Couldn't believe my eyes.

Someone may choose to have "Bippu" (hope I spelled that right) influenced mods that may not be of the true VIP vein. That's cool.

If I'm ever fortunate enough to acquire an F50, I'd like for it to have a couple of VIP influenced mods, yet still be stock enough for daily enjoyment.

Then VIP could stand for, Very Individual Preference.

No crazy camber or stretched sidewalls for me, thank you very much.
bullittandy wrote:Please re-read the guy's post. He wants opinions on 20's or 22's.
If someone wanted to stick 24's or even 26's under their Q45, it's their Q45.

But when members of this forum are asked for their opinions, whom many admittedly have more conservative tastes, most of the replies will reflect that mindset.

I read what DjElastik posted. I replied to his third post in this thread.

My opinions to anyone regarding twenty inch wheels on a 97-01 Q45 are this.

If you want them on your Q, then by all means have them installed on your Q.

Since the 97-01 seems to sit kinda high anyway, a 1.5 to 2 inch drop will definitely enhance the looks.

The 245/35R20 is a very common size tire many end up (FWD Impala & Grand Prix, Lexus GS, F50-Q45, etc.) with when they get 20's installed. The 245/30R20 is closer to the OEM diameter of the G50 and (F)Y33 as well as that of the Lexus GS.

The service description minimum load rating for the (F)Y33 is 93, with a minimum speed rating of V.

nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti 2000 Q45 owners manual page 285 of 309

tirerack.com/tiretech

My opinions on twenty-two inch wheels on any Q45 are this.

A total waste of a wonderful car. Damn shame.

However. If someone wants them on their Q, then by all means they should have them installed on their Q.

Actually it was a joke, I'm personally going through trouble having my rear fenders rolled as we speak to fit my wheels, which should give me a flush look. 19x9+18 and 19x10+22. Im not a VIP basher but I am personally more into the EXE style of VIP

Thats cool. EXE is apart of VIP. Thats what most people dont get. Stretching tires and camber is not neccisary, those are just tricks that we use to get lower while fitting aggressive wheels.

Back to the topic, IF you want 22's then try to go with something like the Burgandy Q has on.

All of the original pictures on this thread are horrendous; the largest wheel size on ANY sedan or car in general should be 18". Anything higher is simply ridiculous and/or ugly.

The wheels that the thread-starter seems to be admiring are the ugliest pieces of metal I've ever seen...someone tried to go "bling-bling" and had too much chronic along the way.

Stick with some simple, stylish spoked wheels; not the atrocities you posted.

I think 20's are okay, mine on 19's is not crazy but you do give up some ride quality. Since I have an X-Terra that I can drive as well it isn't as big of a deal for the Q to be on the smaller profiles but if I didn't own an X-terra I might have stopped at 18", but you know the current M45 comes on the same 19" rims that that I have on my Q and it is similar size. I think 18-19 are a good fit, 20's are the most, anything else and it is too far over the top. Plus getting stock rims for me is a huge thing, you need to spend alot of cash to get aftermarkets that are as high of a quality as the stocks. PITA to get lots of aftermarkets to balance properly unless they are of very high quality.

I admit your car looks pretty good, the size of the wheels is set off by the bodykit. However, on a stock body, wheels over 18 are just...

i wish that was mine!!! i just posted it to show that large rims do have a place on the y33 bodystyle. itz all about opinion & creativity. i've seen 19z that look magnificent & sum that i thought were garbage. same with 20z & up.

Now, this (F)Y33 looks fantastic!

It has also been lowered more than two inches.

IMO 19's and 20's would look the best for a lowered y33 q45 because of the big body style. i plan to put on airrunners on mine and have a set of 19's to go with it.

Isn't this the exact same car gjh20 mentioned. I'll agree the y33 with 20s can turn out looking good. But you have to keep in mind he's using coilovers to lower his car. IMO 20s look fine if the car is lowered

i agree with jesda, its a low and long car, keep it that way. thats what is so sexy about the Q. Put 20s on it (or 19s) lower it and itll look 100% better opposed to stock, and 900% better as opposed to ridin on 22inch dinner plates lookin like a 4x4

keep it smooth and luxo

Indeed Solini it is. In my reply to his post, I selected a pic from the thread he linked.

Thanks homie... as for the Teins, a friend of mine has 20s also and we're going to put his rims on my car and see what happens. Personally I think with a rolled rear fender and some negative camber the rears with work, the front are what i'm worried about. But you might try getting some coilovers like the guy with the Brabus wheels if you wanted to get rid of some the the 4x4 effect

I think you might be okay if you use the stock offset (like with FX rims) or some 1" spacers with higher offset. I have the 19" and there is plenty of room, not even sure you'll need to roll the fenders if you have 35 series tires...if you want 40 or 45 than you'll have a tougher time.

I have 35 and it isn't even close to hitting, in fact next set of tires I will go to 40 series just to get a little more sidewall and comfort back.

Hi all..... nice cars all... I just wanna come in here and rant for a seco...First of all, the 22s are nice, u might make me out do u, and im in a g50. ANd believe me, i can spend the money to do it. But it would be a friendly competetion. Nothing personal.Second, why does everyone cram this individual about how ugly 22s look. And how messed up 22s are on an infiniti. No one can say Exept for maybe 1 or 2 people can say, nice car, looks good, or anything... I understand most of yous, your preference is the performance, and torque, and the japanese look of stuff.. Generally, not moi. The only performance i need it a comfortable ride. I dont need extra horsepower and all the ridiculous stuff ppl are trying to add. Frankly, i dont go over 70MPH in my Q, i got 20s on mine. No need to. Yes there are things that will go bad on a car wen u add 22s, but "DURR" if you didnt know that b4 u put 22s on your car, then u have NO common sense. Every car messes up with bigger rims and tires, and causes trannys to die out faster if not carefull. So like i said, i know you all are not that type of crowd, but dang, dont make it seem like he has commited the worse in the world.Oh, on them 22s.. you shoulda got some luxery looking rims with a lip. ... I might do 22s. Oh yea, also, some of those sigma things are ugly, i dont like em really.. all that extra body kit. Im not trynna be fast and furious. If that was the case, i would get a Viper or somethin.Im Out!
