Thanks! Bit different than mine arms the hatch opens and closed, just not with the button on inside of the hatch.
That's different. If it closes normally with everything except the door button and you're sure the main switch is on, then it can't be the pinch sensors or spindles. Chances are it's a problem with the button or wiring. The inside trim is fairly easy to pull down for inspection, it may just be the connector was never latched properly and lost contact or fell out. You can use a voltmeter at the switch to diagnose a wiring issue, you should normally see voltage across the two switch terminals (I think 5V, but possibly 12V), but it should go to 0V when the switch is pressed. If there's normal movement then the problem isn't the switch and there may be a problem with the ABD Controller, see the dealer. If there's no voltage across the pins, check both terminals individually against a chassis ground. If you see voltage on one pin but not the other, press the switch and re-check the voltage on the pin that didn't have any. If it now shows voltage, the ground wire is open. If it still shows no voltage, the switch is bad. If you see no voltage on either pin, then the signal wire is open or the ABD Controller has a blown input. The most likely spot for any wire failure is at the flex boot between the roof and hatch, since that has to coil and un-coil every time the hatch is operated.
