Hello all,

I've got a 2014 Rogue SL and I'm really not a fan of the stock dash unit. After doing some research, I decided to go with a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. It seems like a straight-forward install process, but I wanted to see if there were any videos and/or tutorials online. I've been looking around the internet and have yet to find anyone who has pulled out the SL's stock unit and replaced it with any kind of aftermarket unit. Has anyone here done this or know someone who has?

The main thing I'm looking is how the backup camera is hooked up. Everything else seems pretty straight forward. I know there is a good chance that I will have to give up the Around View, but I'm okay with that as long as I can hook up the backup camera.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'd say replacing the head unit in the second gen Rogue would be fairly similar to that of the first gen model (and yes, you'll loose the around view monitor). Start with this thread stock-radio-upgrade-t598878.html

Hello,

It is not a complete straight forward installation. In order to keep the around view feature son custom wiring is required it may not be necessary to cut cables, but some bridging or other type of connection will be necessary. I've been considering this my self but right now i dot have the patient nor time to analyze the wiring diagrams on the FSM. So far what i found is the signal from the four cameras goes to a module that merges the image an creates the birds Eye, meaning the the module is the one that controls the cameras and creates that beautiful and useful birds eye. The wire that goes from the module to the unit is the one that needs to be adapted to work with the new aftermarket unit, some guys have done it there is even a video of a guy in europe that did it with a Nissan qashqai there is even a video somewhere on youtube.

please follow the link below for more information, and good luck. (if you make it happen please post some videos and pictures so everybody can get rid of that awful factory unit.
