hey all, got a quick question for you, I just Bought a 2014 nissan rogue select and to my surprise I realized it has hud caps (they still make those) can I add 17"or even 18" rims? I don't know it it has the room and how would the tire sensors be affected? Thank you all...

you can put rims on in 17" or 18" no problem. just need to keep a few things on mind, check out tirerack.com. the TPMS sensors will need to be transferred to the new wheels if you want the light to go off.

Thanks JB.. I had a feeling it could be done, the guy from nissan said it can't be done because there is no room inside the wheel well because it is to small..... plus if the sensors are ever moved I will always have the tire pressure light on.. if I want anything like that done I should only let nissan do it.....
.. Hmmmm sounds like that want my money and want to scare me if I use a 3rd party for anything. ...

Hey there.. well I finally narrowed it down to these rims:

http://www.amazon.com/Lorenzo-Chrome-Of ... icleType=6

I was told they would fit (anyone want to double check that for me please? Actually one person said noo they won't fit as well as amazon saying nope as well..) I put in 2013 rogue S edition..

What caught my eye was the numerous websites I had visited has these rims listed way over 300 each. . From what I could tell the specs are all the same.. could amazon really be that good with there rim prices?

Many thanks.

idk aftermarket rim prices. i dont keep up with them. but i will tell you this: if its too good to be true = you will regret the purchase after a year or two. Rims drive through salt, oil, acid rain, rocks, brake fluid, antifreeze, sand, etc. if its a cheap paint/dip process = its gonna peal & crack really quickly.

honestly chrome rims are a total pain, no matter who makes them. i have seen many-many, almost all - chrome rims turn into the pictures above; it just depends when. better quality will last longer; but the end is inevitable. even my brother in law's oem lexus has that issue. you have to wash & wax them CONSTANTLY, and even then.... you can chip off the paint just from the rims shrinking & expanding.

if i was to go chrome, i would certainly stay with OEM rims. actually... i wouldn't buy after market wheels regardless of color/style, unless they were $1 each. if in a year, one rim is damaged, cracked, or simply beyond repair = good luck finding that 1 rim you need to complete the set. while oem rims seem to never disappear from the market.

try these:

^ That. All of it.

Keep in mind that chrome and aluminum alloy don't play nice. VERY few companies know how to plate an alloy wheel, and the ones that do it right charge a premium for them.

There's nothing wrong with buying WHEELS (not rims, please) through Amazon, as they're all coming from the same places, but stick to a higher-quality wheel (OR an OEM wheel from another Nissan / Infiniti vehicle).

All aftermarkets on my Rogue and Infiniti. If availability down the line is a big fear buy an extra. I've been fortunate to go this long without cracking a wheel. You are already paying either a lot of money or very little money so an extra wheel won't hurt if you really want those aftermarket custom wheels.

I would avoid chrome though as has been stated. We had a lot of trouble with the chrome wheels on the wifes EX35 as it aged. I got fed up and replaced them recently. I had a few sets in my day and it is a weekly job to keep them clean. You should see the amount of time I spend keeping my harley chrome parts from spoiling. Uggggg

If that was a thought I entertained what would you go with on a black rogue that would last?
I had chrome rims on a Mustang and your not kidding. It was a pain in the neck to keep em clean and shining lucky for me the car came with oem Ford rims But they are a pain to maintain. .

You know what they say about opinions!! lol

I think that depends some on your budget. I went with the MB line on my rogue because I don't drive like a crazy person and I felt the warranty I was getting from the installer was good. That coupled with my fickle habits of possibly changing them out for something else entirely in a few years led me to the lower cost of the MBs. Only about 105 per rim. And I feel they look pretty good and have a lot of different options.

I liked the TSW rims for my wife's Infiniti though. Much of the research I did stated they were a good middle of the road wheel but they run 200 per depending on wheel.

All that is my own personal light research though. If it were me I prefer finding a brick and mortar place I knew I could go back to and strong arm warranty work out of if the product fails prematurely. My budget allows me to spend a bit more money on what I feel is a piece of mind. Not everyone has that budget so hard to say what you should or shouldn't get. Those are just my two opinions on the two wheels I've invested in so far.

I'm a fan of wheels with a grey/black center and machine-finsh lip on a black vehicle... Or, a simple machine-finish wheel.

I added Rims from Pet Boys, just looked for ones that fit the 2013 Regular Rogue. They were a really good price and they installed the sensors and all for 15 a tire.

Well I know what rims and tires im going to order, for rims i'm going with:
18x8 Niche Essen, Silver/Machined...

and for the tires im going with:
Michelin Hydoedge 225/55/18

Now my question... I feel the 16's that come with my Rogue are to small and to coincide with the fact the space between the top of the tire and the wheel well is just to big, Nissan could of lowered it I feel... being that I am putting different size tires on will the gap increase above the tire to the wheel well or stay the same? I have seen people lower there Rogues because of the gap, so im lost on tis...... I tried looking at that tire chart and in no way do I understand it at all... The stock tired I have are 215/70/16

many-o-thanks...

you already have 3 threads open, on the same topic. i am gonna combine them, with hope you will post your questions all in here. please stop creating new threads for every question you have, thats related to the same project you are doing: GETTING AFTERMARKET RIMS & TIRES.

you bought an SUV; that means there will be wheel gap. if they were to lower this car to decrease wheel, it wouldnt have been an SUV, but a station wagon. less wheel gap means the car's suspension has less room to travel. and when you have an suv thats capable of small off-road feats, you dont want to lose that suspension travel capability.

I know someone gave you the link to tirerack but did you check it out. Its a nice site because if you change the rim size from 16 to 18 they tell you the tire size needed to keep the wheel the same size. What other things are you looking to add? Im asking because I just got a Select as well and I just made a post about what year accessories to buy because I think its a 2013 body. I just did all new speakers in mine and will be adding the leds underneath the Rogue soon. I would love to see what you do to yours, so if you make a build log or anything PM me.

That sounds good to me. . I have found several websites that offer packages for rims and tires but I'm driving myself a lil bit crazy.. I keep switching from wanting to buy aftermarket or OEM. ... I do prefer OEM as I would like to keep what I could in uniform... but finding what rim I like from nissan is another story.... As for letting you know what changes I make to the rogue that sounds good to me.. we could steal each other's ideas. Lol

These are rims I'm looking at but as usual what i like really won't work with my rogue. .

http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=131198316202

Size: 18 X 7.5
Offset : 35
Hub bore: 66.1
Bolt pattern: 5 x 114

The problem is the offset is a little low and the last thing I
Want is the tires Coming out past the wheel well. ... that looks horrible. .

I know nothing about rims and this offset so I will be watching what you do. And I like the stock rims from the link and they are 18s :) I started a log on facebook because I couldn't post everything I do in one post here. I wish they had a section just for build logs here.. Well here is the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/2014Nissan

Um, you could start an entire build thread here.

The difference is that this will be here forever - a FB post will eventually go away.
