I bought a NVP 2 months ago. It has a bad drive line vibration. Nissan rep says its normal because of the size of the vehicle. Starts at 45, peaks at 47 and roar at 50+. 720 miles. Afraid to drive it. HELP!

When you say "roar" at 50+, what do you mean? Does it sound like a wind noise? Is the vibration in the wheel or the seat? Does the roar change pitch when getting on the gas or off of the gas? I would imagine it's still under warranty. If it's as bad as you say, take it in to the dealer and have them go for a ride with you.

Vibration is in steering wheel mainly. Thought at first it was tires but Firestone eliminated them but verified it was a drive line vibration.. The roar is from the vibration. Took it to the dealer 5 times. Nissan Rep drove it and then reported that there was no vibration. In other words they don't intend to fix it. They did warn me if I went to a 3rd party it would void my warranty. I guess its lawyer time. Its 2 months old and 720 miles so yes it is under warranty.

I would definitely recommend you try another dealer. I know it may be a hassle but it sounds like your current dealer doesn't want to help you at all. Another thing may be that you contact Nissan NA customer help line and see what they say.

Dealer? The Nissan area rep is the one who made the determination that it was normal for that vehicle to have a drive line vibration. They even warned me it would void my warranty if a 3rd party worked on it. They refuse to repair it, replace it or give me my money back. In other words I have a $41600 boat anchor parked in my garage. Good thing I did not trade in my other van. I have contacted Nissan customer service. They are the ones that told me Nissan would do nothing. In other words I am screwed.

Wow, you called 1-800-Nissan1?

You could always find another dealer, take one for a test drive and see if it has the same issue. If not, spill the beans and say "well this is interesting, because I have one of these with a horrific shimmy that Nissan says is normal, yet this vehicle doesn't do it".

Also, you might be able to take it to another shop for a quote to fix. If they recognize a problem, take it back to Nissan. If they STILL don't do anything, maybe you can lemon law it?

Nissan Customer Service told me if any one else worked on it it would void the warranty. That was to keep e from taking itn to a drivel;ine shop to verify there was a problem they did not want to fix.

My dealer is the only dealer for this vehicle for over 200 miles.

Not to worry at the rate the vibration is increasing it will fly apart by 1000 miles. 752 right now. If any one is hurt I WILL sue.

The fact it has a problem does not up set me. Its a machine made by man. What upsets me is Nissan trying to pretend the problem does not exists so they will not try to fix it. Makes me think they have had this problem before and could not fix it
I still think the drive shaft to differential angle is wrong. There is no upward tilt to the rear end and there is quite an angle for the universal to swing through. I feels like its binding.

*sigh*

You're not getting the point. You need to complain about the dealer to 1800-Nissan1 and get things moving ASAP. Don't take it to a drive line shop to get worked on, just go through the official channels and then give em hell. If you really must, you can have another shop LOOK at it without taking anything apart... That should at least get someone to tell you what's going on.

Yup, looking at something is not working on it.
Go to the dealership and raise holy f*** hell. Tell them you want it in writing that that is normal, so that when it shakes apart, you can end up owning the dealership and firing every ***hole in it, burning it down, and pissing on the ashes.

Report the dealership to the better business bureau. Start slamming them on Twitter, Facebook, here (by naming names and dealerships). Make them famous. They'll start communicating. We've seen it before and it works. Here's an example of what can happen. dobbs-honda-in-memphis-tn-screwed-me-bu ... 87851.html
