I've had the SL for almost a year now and found the following issues:
1. Seating - agree with RGOLD, seats are uncomfortable for my height and size. I could not find the right configuration that meets my comfort standards. the worst aspects of it are: a) the seat cushion is too narrow (like the side bolstering "starts too early") leaving inadequate level space for leg movement (i'm 5'10, 180lbs) , b) no adjustment for seat to tilt down which puts pressure on my hamstrings even on short drives. i was able to alleviate this by purchasing a seat pad (downside is it tends to slide around against the leather seat surface), and c) as mentioned in the original post, the dead pedal is way too small, feels like 2/3 the size of my '05 civic's.
2. fuel economy - i do mostly city driving here in Vancouver, BC so i can appreciate that mpg will not be optimal, but my average of 11.6 l/100km is approaching V6 levels. that's more than 20% worse than the advertised city number of 9.4 l/100km, (about 20mpg vs 25mpg if my conversion resource is correct). this observation echoes the edmunds.com long-term test (which came too late for me unfortunately)

3. paint chipping on driver side door - tiny chip on the very edge where the door meets the frame when shut.
4. very weak and slow to get going heater which we experienced the entire fall/winter season - and i guess as a consequence, a very good cooling system in the summer
5. as mentioned in another post, the door frame seems to "move" when the power window is going down. this is my first vehicle with power windows but i don't think this is normal
6. No memory seat
7. Recurring issue with door locks not engaging, either when I press the key FOB or the button on the door handle.
