Here is the place to list minor design things that may have a work-around you just don't know about, or just serve as a place to vent :)

If you have found a work-around, please share!

My experience so far (SL FWD with Premium):

1) Hatch light does not have a shut-off switch Thanks to this thread for pointing that out. 2014-rogue-the-drive-in-t589681.html)

2) The max height for the hatch is uncomfortably low. I'm 6'1" and I smack my head all the time!

3) I finally added air to my tires. When you do this the hazard lights in the rear come on when you are getting close to the correct pressure, then the horn beeps when it's time to stop. However, the front hazard lights don't do this. I can't see the rear lights from the front tires

1) It is kinda bad design...even previous gen of Rogue had a switch. What's even worse it's only 1 light because murano has 2 and both with switches. You're more than welcome to install a switch next to it and post pics for us over here.
2) C'est la vie! Can't help it.
3) Mine worked fine...even lights on side mirrors worked. Have you followed the instructions from the booklet?

There are many little things about the Rogue that annoy me. If they had any decent Q/A testing most of these would not have been still existing in the production model. Still love the car, but here's my gripes:

1) The lights on the window buttons and door lock/unlock buttons do not turn on until you start the car. Other lights in the car turn on when you unlock the car, so should these.
2) It does not show the track name when playing via Bluetooth - it just says "BLUETOOTH AUDIO" on top of the map. You have to go into AUX to see the track name. Should have been very easy to put the track name up there because it does show it when playing with USB.
3) No way to adjust volume of BSW/LDW warnings.
4) No feature to hold button on key fob to roll down windows even though it's in the manual.
5) No windshield washer fluid sensor on US models even though it's in the manual.
6) Nav system voice interrupts your phone calls.
7) I wish the headlights would come on when you unlock the car at night and it's set to auto headlights. Only the DRLs come on. This is a personal preference of mine.
8) No tilt option on the drivers seat.
9) Dead pedal area is tiny and covered by carpet. Would be better to have it rubber seeing as my foot is going to be there all the time.
10) Bad lighting in the hatch area. It's just not bright enough. There is a really nice mod posted on this forum but I can't be arsed to do it.

Thanks for the response to #3. I did what the youtube video said to do. I'll play with it again over the weekend. Did you leave the fob inside the car, or on your person when you were adding air?

The hatch door gets me, too. Even adjusted all the way, 6'1 is too tall. More frustrating is that you can still PUSH it up another inch or so... and if it would set the stop THERE it might be enough.

I can't figure out how to turn off the auto-lock on the doors. Don't mind that as much as the locks not opening automatically until the engine is stopped. I think other manufacturers unlock when the vehicle is put in 'park'... or at you can open the passenger door(s) at that point.

As a previous Ford owner, I can overlook a LOT of oddities in the infotainment system on the Nissan.

Regarding #2, you can see the track info from the dash display if you toggle to that screen.
Regarding, #10, it gets a lot better if you install an LED bulb. I used this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NO ... UTF8&psc=1

Does that LED fit in there without any modifications? If so, that is a great solution for me. Thanks!

Edit: Do you know if this might fit in the dome as well? The mix of LED and incandescent light in this car has bugged me since day 1. If I can get an LED for the dome that will fade on/off with the LED map lights in addition to replacing the trunk light, I will be stoked.

I had to stretch the pins just a tiny bit for the new bulb. I can't speak to the dome light because I have the moon roof. My interior lights did not take that same bulb.

I ordered two of the same bulb. One for my non-moonroof dome light and one for the trunk. Both fit just fine (even though the factory dome light was 1mm bigger, not a big difference). Amazing difference in lighting though. Thank you for the bulb recommendation!

Let's get back to the topic....

2014 SV AWD 35,000 miles
Little things that bug me?
Nothing, this is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Just slightly ahead of my 2009 Grand Caravan with 187,000 miles sitting right next to it in the driveway.
Between my wife and me we have owned 30+ cars, vans, SUV's, minivans.

Don't have a Rogue yet. Was going to order the moonroof, but just heard that the only way to get it to tilt is to have the sunshade all the way open first. Deal killer for me. In my current ride ('03 CR-V) i rarely ever slide the roof. I always tilt it. In the hot summer sun, i use my current sunroof's tilt feature to ventilate the heat out of the vehicle, while the sliding sunshade is just barely open. If i understand Nissan's design right, to ventilate the interior, i have to have the sunshade all the way to the rear, and consequently get blasted by all that hot sunlight beating down on me!!! It seems counter-productive that to cool the vehicle you have to allow the sun full access...
Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I'd love to get the moonroof....

I think you understand it correctly. I assume their thinking is that with the panoramic moonroof, why is someone NOT going to want the shade opened completely.

With all the windows rolled down, at freeway speeds the rear seat belt straps vibrate, a lot, annoying a lot. Drives me crazy as I keep the window down a lot for the dogs. I have had to put binder clips the upper belt sections to stop this.

Wow I have the same annoying issue, I also have the dog in the back and can't take the sound. I also don't like the fact that my auto tailgate stops midway as I'm starting the car. Have the get out and close with the button on the actual tailgate.

Nope only button that works once it's stuck is the one on the tailgate. Told the dealer and they told me they have no fix for it. They said they tried other rogues on the lot and some work fine and some don't.

I'm in Canada and I have the 2014 SV AWD. I can tilt the moonroof without opening the sunshade all the way. you just have to push the button again and the sunshade will stop. The sunshade will have to open all the way though, if you want to open the moonroof.

These were my observations after just 20 mins of the initial ride from dealership to home.

Sitting in the drivers seat position, the oval instrument cluster showing the speedometer and RPM meter is not fully visible. The left side of the speedo oval is not fully visible and the right side of the RPM meter. It is a small thing, but something that I was used to with my very old Honda accord. Thing is that steering wheels in the newer vehicles have become smaller, so the v shaped space of the top part of the steering wheel has to be perfectly sized to show the entire instrument cluster. Hondas are very good in ergonomics. Everything is placed at the right place...atleast that is what the feeling I got riding a 1998 Honda Accord and a 2006 Honday Odyssey.

Other thing I noticed is a slight vibration in the accelerator that is felt in your leg as your leg is almost always on the accelerator.

The NissanConnect is pretty limited in terms of functionality on my SV. Just the facebook app, which shows useless info on the primitive 5 inch screen. Wish they had some music apps that they describe on the Nissan Canada site. Guess those are only available only in US. I don't believe they will add them anytime soon as 2014 has been out almost a year here in Canada.

The centre console height, atleast in my case came up short. After adjusting the seat height to my liking, I find that my right elbow does not rest well on the centre console. It is a little short in height, so I either have to lower my seat and reduce the visibility from windshield, or I will have to add some wierd spacer between the top section of the centre console storage and the lid.

We have the '14 SL extended package / FWD. The passenger side lights on the window buttons and door lock/unlock buttons never come on. Is this correct?

The nav system in general - garmin makes better decisions, has better routing. In my opinion, of course :-)

The center console's latches - difficult to get the top storage to open, seems to stick, always opens the deep storage.

Really the biggest issue in our car: the sun visors. Both, after regular use, are drooping, in such a way that they impact visibility when 'deployed'. Had them replaced twice already, ready for a third replacement when going for the next oil change. 7600 miles and counting.

Rain and blind spot detector - 'nuff said'.

Creaking of seats when slid all the way back. Seems that the seat in the railings when all the way back are 'binding'. Then, when turning, it seems to rub against the railings, and make some creaking/clunking noise.

SV model here and I agree 100% could not cost them very much to have put a small bulb there.

I too have noticed the rear seat belt buckles rattle against the wall next to the seat without the window open, when hit bumps etc. have to move it or restrain it to prevent..

Also, has anyone else noticed that the side window wipers don't contact the windows when rolling down to clean dew or rain off of windows (all 4 windows) This is not only an annoyance but can be dangerous when windows covered in dew... have to actually push on the windows to make them contact the wipers... and the front doors flex when window opened or closed? I am contacting the dealer about this.. will update.

Wow! I would have thought it was something they would have addressed... I wonder if anyone has contacted dealer about the windows?? This is the first car I have ever owned that had this problem... that wasn't at least 10 years old...

Haven't noticed the window molding issue yet myself as the car is always garaged overnight, so no dew on the windows in the morning. My concern with this is if the moldings are not contacting the windows, then wouldn't that allow 100%of rain water rolling down the windows to enter the door instead of being diverted by the molding' s squeegee edge?

I too have the rattling moonroof, but only when the sun shade is open. And i have the door panels moving in and out as the windows reach their top and bottom stops. And the other bugging item is the blind spot warning lights that flash continuously whenever it rains or if the roads are wet. I wish we could adjust the volume of the warnings as well

As far as my Rogue is concerned, the moldings/squeegee edge are touching the window always, so no rainwater gets in the door. But when you press the door button to open or close the window, the door panel moves slightly towards you so that when the window slides up and down it doesn't come in contact with the moldings. (So you can't "clean off" your window when there's dew or fog on it by just rolling your window down, then up.)
