Hello!

I just purchased a new Rogue SV and am thinking of upgrading the audio. I'm curious about what you all have switched out. Most of all, has anybody installed a sub and Das able to hide it? I'd like it out of sight and so it doesn't negatively affect the functionality of the car.

I look forward to what you have to say!

Yeah, would have loved to get the sl, but I went with the SV with the Moonroof instead. Makes for a great mountain drive!

Anyone know the specs on the 2014 SV audio? I am test driving tomorrow, and the door speakers look small. Does SV need an audio upgrade?

S/SV having a regular 6 speaker system. Bose have 8 speakers(sub-woofer was not counted). S/SV should have the same harness as other nissan models for example 08-13 Rogue/Sentra/Versa etc however there's no dash kit available for aftermarket head-units yet. You may want to email metraonline.com or scosche to find out when the kit will be available.

I can't for the life of me get the specs on the speakers. I talked to Nissan USA to see if they could give me the speaker sizes - they told me they don't have that info yet on the 2014 (?) and to call the dealership. I called the dealership and they said they don't have that info and to call Nissan USA. If anyone knows the sizes, parser let me know ;) .

The factory speakers okay at lower volumes, but they sound awful when I have to turn it up to hear over the wind coming through the windows.

Oh boy. I wish I could do that without breaking something. It's a shame though if I have to pay some place to open it up. I'd like to get the sizes before bringing it to the shop so I can purchase the speakers cheaply and have them install.

I've completely replaced all my speakers and ran it through an amp the moment i cranked up the volume a little over half. The stocks sounded horrible but at low level they are pretty good. I'm a little bit of an audiophile. If you haven't figured out the sizes of the door speakers yet, they are all 6.5". Although the holes could actually fit maybe a little bigger than that due to the stock speaker's mount being bigger.

Care to share the details? What size were the speakers you installed? What did you replace them with? Got any pictures of the work you did?

Thank you, Tao! Where did you hide your amp? Did you put a sub in there? If so, where did you put it? I'm a little unsure with the somewhat unstable cargo area.

Here are some photos of my setup:

Subs are 10" Alpine Type R. I placed it in the corner so i can have as much cargo room as i can get.

I have my two amps that are hidden under the subs.

My front speakers are Alpine SPS-610c and the rears are Alpine SPS-610. All door speakers are hooked to my 4 channel amp on the left and the sub is on the right. The amps are mounted onto the plastic floor thing that seperates from the spare tire. Sorry about the messy wires...didn't have a chance to clean up yet. Haha.

Nice work on the install. Do you notice a difference with the rear upgraded as well. Do you have any issues with the sub being on top of the movable cargo cover?

If they're 6.5 I'll probably get the Polk sb501 components. Maybe the type r components to match the type r sub I have.

Thanks man. I don't hear much of a difference because the fronts are a bit loud especially with the tweeters from the components blaring at you but you could really hear the rears were distorting bad if you turn it up not even that high. And the sub is fine on the cargo....its actually really sturdy. i even tried it with the cargo raised up. It doesnt slide around or anything.

I need to find a way to lower the tweeter volume somehow. Very ear piercing if you don't turn down the treble. I wish i could get those type r components to match my sub as well. It has a volume switch for the tweeters.

BTW, there's an entire sticky for DIY projects, which includes info on stereo upgrades. While not directly aimed at the 2014 model, the info is relevant.

Nope...its a little too wide for it. I have a set of 6x9 laying around as well. Tried it and failed. The depth is good but it too wide.

If I remember correctly, on the 1st gen Rogue, the OEM speakers were designed with their own mounting spacers that couldn't be reused. In one of the threads I posted previously, another forum member created his own speaker mounting spacers to install his aftermarket speakers. If Metra doesn't offer speaker adapters for the 2nd gen, it wouldn't be too hard to make your own.

Yea. Def. Making mounts. Wouldn't be hard. Mdf. Or plastic.

And. Thanks tao. Was going to replace speakers. But. Would be pointless to install without amp. So. I guess I'll do a small set up.. was being lazy. ..

Been busy but will prob post of pics of the hood struts I did. On the weekend I got the car and led work bar.
