I just bought a 2012 G37S with the navi. Overall, I absolutely LOVE the car, but I am having an issue with the USB audio using a USB flash drive.
I have just under 30 GB of music (all MP3s encoded at 256k), so I bought a 64 GB USB flash drive that I have copied my MP3s to. I have been through the discussions of how to order them properly (I used Media Monkey and everything copied over in the right order), and songs are in the right order on the drive. I have approximately 3300 songs organized in 455 folders with no more than 3 levels of folders. According to p. 4-48 of the owner's manual, I should be able to have 5000 songs in up to 512 folders with up to 8 levels of depth, but the folder listing on the screen in the car shows only 255 folders. What am I missing?
I did note that p. 4-48 lists specs for "Type A" of the head unit, which based on p. 4-55 is the type I have (Type B is shown on p. 4-56). The specs for the Type B head unit does say that it can see a max of 255 folders, but based on the pictures I don't have a Type B unit. Am I missing something? Is 64 GB too big for the system to read?
