Post

Greetings to everyone...and happy 4th of July!

I just bought my first Infiniti this past weekend...a beautiful Vibrant Red G37S with every option I can think of! I am excited to find reasons to drive the car anywhere I can and I am looking forward to the tips and tricks posted on this forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome...

Quick question...I have a 64 GB USB stick that I have copied my MP3s to. I have been through the discussions of how to order them properly (I used Media Monkey and everything copied over in the right order), but I have a different issue. I have approximately 3300 songs organized in 455 folders with no more than 3 levels of folders. According to p. 4-48 of the owner's manual, I should be able to have 5000 songs in up to 512 folders with up to 8 levels of depth, but the folder listing on the screen in the car shows only 255 folders. What am I missing?

I'm no expert when it comes to all the new technology but wouldn't it be easier to copy the MP3's into ITunes and download them into an Ipod plugged into the aux jack?

Thanks telcoman, but I am not an Apple user. No iPods!

I understand that the iPod interface works well, but I am not interested in purchasing another device. The USB audio is a slick way to do things, but I am just trying to get it working the way the owner's manual specifies.

Looking around I've seen one Altima Bose owner find out that the Bose system will only ingest 12.5GB of data from the USB in his car (2010). Some experimentation with yours could show whether you are running into the same issue.

That is a good thought audtatious...there could be some sort of limitation on total amount of data. Unfortunately, the manual does not indicate any kind of size limitation. I will experiment and report back...

Here's the thread where the guy was investigating on his Altima coupe...

So it is not a capacity issue. I broke my collection across 2 flash drives (one A-M and one N-Z). I guess my taste runs stronger towards the first half of the alphabet because of the approximately 30 GB of music I have, over 18 GB of it is in artists A-M. This only had 203 folders, so the car read the drive without issue.

Hmmm...at this point I would just drop by the service center and have them figure it out for you.
