As far as DD commuters go, I genuinely like the first-gen tC. Most small cars have terrible proportions, but the Mazda 3 and tC take similar approaches at doing good things with the less than ideal canvas they have to work with.

This new one, like EVERYTHING from Toyota these days, is trying too hard. The first gen worked because it was simple and clean. The new one is anything but.
