Hey folks,

I've been over on the Pathfinder/QX4 board for a few years now but unfortunately I had to trade it in last week....so I got a 2010 Maxima and I love it! Hopefully it will provide me years of reliable driving and enjoyment.

I do have a question regarding the LH (looking at the engine) splash shield that I can't find online. Mine is somewhat loose and I can pull the front up, so it's not fastened to whatever it attaches to. Is it missing a fastener, a tether/strap, or does it "hook" to the body and I'm just not seeing it? I'd hate to buy a new one just for this...and despite the functionality of the shield being unaffected by not being connected, I'd still like to get it done.

Thanks a ton! :)

Welcome to the Maxima forum!

Do you see any spots where a bolt should go, but doesn't (like a bolt head sheared off)? Can you post any pictures (how-to-post-pictures-using-photobucket-t521110.html) of the splash shield where it is not attached (where it's loose)?

Here are a few pictures..

I don't recall being able to lift the splash shields on the other Maximas that I was looking at this easily. In fact, I couldn't lift them at all, which made me think that there was a fastener on mine missing. I don't see any obvious signs of a plastic piece being torn off, and the only fastener I see is located at the top near the windshield wiper.

Anyone ever taken this off and have experience of how it's connected (other than the aforementioned fastener that I do have)? Thanks!
