Gotta get use to spending $2,500-3,000 per year [$200-250 per month] or let it rot into a rampling wreck if you can keep it on the road OR do the labor yourself and almost halve the cost...............assumming you have all the tools and equipment.
Thanks for the insight Q45tech. Just wasn't sure if I should continue pumping money into my 1992 Q45 or look for a good deal on a 2002.

In my eyes, it is way cheaper to keep fixing the Q, rather than getting a newer vehicle with its higher price and payments.

Plus the newer luxury vehicles have so many gadgets in them that they will never be cheap to own for the long term.

I read about this lady with a Lexus RX that had to have the Nav screen replaced to the tune of $6000.

For 6K she could have gotten a top of the line laptop, Aftermarket Navi unit with satellite subscription and all mounting hardware to make her vehicle a Navigation Center with money left over for nails and hair.

Layla had 235,000 miles on her when I sold her.

I miss her.

Lola is just a baby, she barely has 134,000 miles on her.

Wow. $1000 buys you a TomTom... or two?

The article stated that she got into an accident and had her dog in the back seat. The dog, an 85 lbs. pit, flew forward and smacked into the Nav screen.

I am assuming that there was probably some damage to the area around the screen.

Maybe the Nav unit was self contained, so if the screen is damaged you would have to replace everything.

In the same article, they were also talking about the costs to replace the multiple airbags in newer vehicles. An insurance guy said that the a vehicle could be totaled out because of the airbags deploying.
