That's ridiculous. I'd call the general manager of your dealership. If it's an actual Infiniti dealership, all records are in the PC under the VIN#. Are they joking? Giving the customer the run around?

I agree and they are big Infiniti, Mercedes and Maserati dealership. The service advisor I talked to said something about proprietary, did not give me details though.

Unless, someone here can help me get it from their local dealership please. If so, I can pm you the VIN# and you can email it back to me.

Thanks.

I called a Infiniti dealership near by me to see if recall on mine has been done by previous owner. I also had them tell me any previous work that has been done on it by infiniti. I got all the information I need it. AND they told me the original dealer that sold my vehicle in 2009.

Appointment is today for accelerate pedal recall.

Nice, glad you got your service history. I have scheduled an oil change and pedal recall to be done this Saturday but still no luck in getting the service history from them.

You might try buying a cheap part at the parts counter and asking the parts counter person if he can print one out for you. I ran into the same thing with Lexus and while buying a license plate frame and touch up paint, I asked nicely and he was glad to do it for me. He hadn't done it before, and it took him a couple of minutes to figure out how to do it, but he did it and gave it to me.

I was able to get the service history (over the phone only) from the original dealership. They told me what was all done to it, basically oil changes at regular intervals, other recommended services and no other major work to it. Also, took the car to the local dealership today for the oil change, accelerator pedal recall and also had the transmission checked out for the unusual down shifts / engine braking at low speeds. There was a software update for the TCM and they completed that and after driving it for short distance, the car shifts better and the pedal feels a little softer. I will be driving it longer tomorrow so will post how it does.

Thank you for the update! Now I need to go check out that update for the TCM. I will be making my appointment for that tomorrow.

How much did the update run you?

I agree, this is just a temporary fix. I'm thinking to recover the whole dash probably this summer. :)

I buy mine from Ebay. Some Infiniti dealers have Ebay stores where they discount parts and ship for free. I pay about $40.00 for the 2-filter OEM set. Mine need replacement about once per year so $40 isn't an issue.

As for actual gas mileage: Lots of variables effect the MPG. My driving style leans closer to spirited than old tinker and I frequently use the DS (sport) mode. I live near the bottom of Florida. Roadways and freeways are 100% flat but there are draw bridges in my path no matter where I drive so a 10 minute idle at 0 mph is usually part of the drive and the climate control is never switched off. Also heavy traffic and a plethora of traffic lights. Day-to-day driving nets me about 17 mpg. With the 7-speed gearbox, my car will make 70 mph at about 2300 rpm. That nets me close to 26 mpg which is great for a gas powered sedan this heavy. Other factors like tire brand, proper inflation and alignment, ambient temperature, etc all effect our mpg as well.

About the HID headlamps: I use OSRAM XENARC D2S 66240 CBI bulbs. These are absolutely brilliant! No fake-blue-ish tint, just pure daylight spread wide and far ahead of you at night. These put the shame on our OEM bulbs. They are not cheap, but definitely worth the money. Make sure you buy them from a place called The Retrofit Source as 90% of the dealers who sell them are selling fake knock-offs. Changing a headlamp on our cars is a tedious chore and you won't want to do it twice due to a cheap headlamp blowing out earlier than it should.

Larz do you have a diy OR LINK to install HID's im looking for a way not to pull off the front bumper. Also did you replace the balast as well?

Please check the FAQ/HowTo thread for instructions on how to get to the headlight without removing the bumper. Our search feature on this forum is pretty good compared to most.
