Do you think that the 2009 a/c is something that we should be looking forward to? Will Nissan improve upon all the minor stuff that needs improving (squeaky seats, some cheap interior, etc), will the overall price point decrease, and will we see anything new and cool (OEM turbo options, different interior choices, more OEM customization, etc).

...Or, will the coupe be lowered in price and also decrease in quality.

or finally, the boring option that nothing will really change, just the name from 2008 to 2009.

thx!

Car manufacturers don't make changes a year after a vehicle is released. They might make minor fixes but no revamps. Vehicle refreshes are typically done every 5 or so years. The 2009 will be the same as what we are all driving

Nissan has already released statements saying the "SER" will be strictly reserved for the Sentra line. The SER is only an effort to increase sales and swing towards the younger, faster, generation. With sales of the Altima where they are, they will only need the boost in the Sentra line.

That's exactly what i've heard too. And if anything, i hope they make all future coupes cvt only. Just makes us 6mt owners have a rare car.

yeah, on nissanclub someone said that their aunt was working at Nissan USA and that the manual would be no more. only CVT.that's a dumb move but I don't care since I already got mine in 6SPD.

2009 will have maybe more standard things for the base model and nothing for the fully equipped I guess.

maybe a revised front grille, wheels or rear cargo space.

I hope there's a revised front grill, haha, then it's all the better to get the new OEM Grill!

I talked to my neighbor today....he works at the Smyrna Nissan Plant on the coupe line. He was telling me that they have already built two 2009 alt coupes...just for the engineers to look at an improve before they start production on all the 09's.

He said nothing has changed except for....a different front grille....an different rims. And they are trying to fix the problems that the 08's have.

I asked him about a Se-R Coupe...he said not gonna happen anytime soon. But he did say he heard talk of a Convertible. But with the sucking economy...its not likely they are gonna make it for 09'.

I have some connects at Nissan so if i hear anything....ill keep yall updated.

Revised front grille?

Different wheels?

I'll wait for the 09 now even though I'll mod the car to hell. Hopefully it's out soon; till then I'll let the business bring in some more money.

Cool man, thx. Please do keep the updates coming if you hear anything. 09 coupe would be pretty sweet even if it only had minor changes, because A) all the annoying squeaks and stuff sound like they will be fixed, and B) it will probably be a little bit cheaper than the `08.

thx

No way they don't make at the very least minor changes.

My proposed changes for an "SE-R" coupe:- 18" rims (off the base model G37) with slick tires, like Yokohama ES100s- stiffer, thicker rear sway bar for improved handling- the same 290 hp engine found in the '09 Maxima- some sportier seats (ie the ones from the G37)

I talked to my sales rep at Mills Nissan in Edmonton yesterday and he told me that they'll have 2009 Coupes on the lot in mid to late August. Asked about any changes w/ the grille, rims. Said from what he's heard the grille is redesigned but still similar to what's on the Altima Coupe right now and the rims are still Enkei's on the 3.5 (didn't say whether they're the same as the 08 3.5 coupes Enkei's though. Other irrelevant stuff; a little more trunk space and minor changes to the ergonomics in the cabin.

I was going to get my 08 3.5 at the beginning of June but I made the decision to wait on the 09 3.5 in Dark Slate (Niagara Grey).

Oh yeah it will, they won't have to design new body panels that way, and it will be cheaper, so you can bet it will be interchangeable

Can't wait for my 2009 grille

We don't even know that they took the mustache away, but I'll bet they'll try and charge an arm and a leg to replace the grille.

I was looking at the new maxima today at the nissan website and it seems like they have made the cvt more "sporty". I wonder if the '09 coupe is cvt only if it will use this system. The maxima says it has two modes and paddle shifters. It would be cool to have the cvt realize that you want to drive "spritied" and hold higher rpms longer thorough corners and during breaking to increase acceleration response.
