I just called for my 12k apointment and they told me that the TPMS and Steering recall are there.

My TPMS will wait until next spring, I'm on my winter tire now.

Man, don't worry about letters in the mail and don't overcomplicate things, Nissan targets 90 days to have their letters out to owners so you shouldn't be expecting anything soon.

Just give your service department a call and they'll have all the recall info. in the computer for your vehicle, and they'll offer to fix it under warranty for you in like a couple of hours. Very simple, give them a call, especially if you're worried about it. I'm going to get mine done at my next oil change in a few weeks to cut down on the number of trips I have to make to the dealer. Worst case scenario they might say "nope, no recalls for you vehicle", then you say thanks and it all takes no more than 60 seconds to check.

so I got all my recalls done today...but to my surprise they added a 3rd recall to the to do list.

So, looking at my service transcript I have the following.

1- Installed Steering Gear retaining nut lock plate.2- Wheel Valve stem nut, replaced TMPS transmitter nuts on all 4 wheels.

These were the two I was going in for....the 3rd that I didn't know about and found out when I got there was.

3- Applied EPT Seals & Grease to the two front door lock assemblies.

I asked whsat #3 was about and he said it was to seal the handles from water seaping into the locks.

They are on 2008 - 2009 Rogues.

Happy with the service I got today.

Whether or not you get something in the mail is completely irrelevant. This is all handled by the dealer seamlessly, the next time you take your car in for an oil change they'll do all the recall work, regardless if you've got a letter.

Nissan states they might send letters out in 90 days, and only because they are legislated requirement, it doesn't serve any real purpose because like I said the dealers drive the process. Not sure why everyone is so worried about letters, didn't Couz just say that he got his all done nice and quick without any hassles?

No letter received...I was due for an oil change and when I made my appointment they had the 2 first recalls I required listed and told me they were gonna do those on top of my oil change....without me even asking.

I made my appointment about two weeks ago....I guess in that span another recall came up (door handles seals).

Without any hesitation when I showed up to drop the car this morning they had the 3rd recall on file and added it to the list of things to do today.

I mentioned I was very happy with the service because I feel very comfortable knowing my dealership is on top of recalls, I never once had to be pro active in finding these recalls, Nissan Spinelli got them and cross referenced it with my vehicle and I needed them....got it all done by 4PM, brought it in at 9AM.

Needless to say as long as I do my oil changes at Nissan I'll always be updated on recalls.

If not I'll get letters...bottom line if your worried just call your dealership and they should have the latest recalls regarding your vehicle

kerrton,

that's a horrible policy. the only reason i bring my car to the dealer is for the oil change since i have the lifetime service. dealers charge too much and require appointments (at least here in NY) i much prefer going to the guy i've been using for 15 years and my in-laws are using for another 15 before that....

if i didn't have this forum i would never have known about the recalls.

terrible policy!

Took my Rogue in today for the recall. Stupid, stupid Nissan dealerships here in MS. You'd think with the largest car factory in the USA being only 10 miles away this would be a premier dealership, but NO!!

The service writer argued me that the letter did not say the steering plate had to be added until I showed him like a first grader. I was told that the TPMS nuts would not be needed.

At pickup they had performed the steering plate addition, went ahead and did the TPMS nuts (we use salt on the roads maybe once every 10 years... POINTLESS to waste the time/money on this).

I LOVE Nissan and it's products, but it's dealer network is awful.

It was not pointless for them to replace the TPMS part(s) as they will crack even without road salt. Isn't your safety worth having Nissan replace them? Why take a chance?

The service advisors are a bunch of jerks most of the time and Nissan should keep a closer eye on how they treat the customers. Many of them need a swift kick to the curb.

The good point is you have the choice to change dealer and make a complaint directly to Nissan USA or Canada for this dealer.

Before that, I suggest you to talk the owner or the big boss of your dealer.

This is a no brainer - REGISTER A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN USA!! People spend too much time complaining but in the end jerks like that always get away with their behavior and continue screwing people over. It's a simple process, Nissan wants feedback like that and it will have an impact. It's just like filling out a survey, very simple but it's the best course of action to let a jerk like that know that he can't get away with doing his job so poorly and treating you like crap.

I got my steering recall letter yesterday and taking the Rogue in Friday. I will also once again bring up the 1 tire that goes low on air about every 2-3 weeks. OF COURSE THEY CAN'T FIND ANY LEAKS.

I scheduled my appointment for this recall, but was surprised to hear that only 2 of the 3 recalls affect my car, the steering issue and the door handle seals, no mention of the TPMS nuts. So I asked, and he said "I guess it doesn't affect your car, you must have the good nuts on already".

My car is an 08, so I can't see how this could be, anybody else have an 08 that doesn't need the TPMS nuts replaced?

Just today, 12/12/09, received my recall letter outlining the Steering Gear housing cover screw and the TPMS nut replacement. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to hear anything.

No letters here either. Dealer says car qualifies for TPMS sensor recall only (build date: May 2009)

I did register a complaint although I'm quite sure it won't change one thing.

Still no letter for me... The recalls have been done (except TPMS), but no new from Nissan Canada. I should call to ask why...

I am not sure if I had the steering recall done or to rephrase it I am not sure whether it was actually done. Is there a easy way to see if the plate was actually put in place. by looking under the car without having to put it on a lift. I am not even sure where or what to look at.

Just call your dealer and ask. They may need your VIN number. They can tell you if the recall applies.
