Woo that looks like sh*t, and look at the roof are those glass sunroofs on the sides, that thing is going to weigh WELL over 3000 pounds, seriously if they want to bring back the S chassis why not use the S15 as a starting platform; they could do a couple of styling changes and use a RWD version of the new SR20VET mated to a redesigned(stronger) 6 speed transmission from the S15, IMO that would be bad azz.

Damn, doesn't the designers do ANY kind of research? That is the most hideous thing I have ever seen right next to the SRT4, PT Cruiser, and Civic SI. Hell, looks as bad as a Suzuki Aero.

Reminds me of a mini- Maxima, just in hatch form. If it does come out, it better be a new engne, like a 4 banger version of the VQ, thatd be awesome.

Wow...just...wow....whatever happened to Nissan's trend of making the next generation's styling based on the previous one? The other S-chassis cars looked awesome...this abomination....I don't think so. Just because other car companies make ugly compact cars doesn't mean that it's a good trend.

i don't believe it will be prroduced, definately not sold in the US. and in the article they questioned whether the drifting craze will last till 2007? its been going on in japan for a decade now and just got to the states within the past couple of years. it better still be around for two or three more years.

They need to keep the true sports car features like:Fastback2 seaterPop up lightsAerodynamicETC

I hope Nissan is reading this thread b/c there will be many more like this.

If that car does come out I hope it isnt named anything related to a 240sx.

NOOOOO!!! It SUCKS!!!

And I don't appreciate that mag calling us the little 'sister' of the Z. They also need to stop telling people to buy 240's. Pretty soon they're all going to be wrecked by idiots. haha

BTW, we can do without popups anymore. I say they build off the S15 design, they had that one right.

Well...

If thats the 1st look at the car its bound to change like the 350z did...

I hope it stays RWD...

For one its going to be slow... They will not make a car thats cheaper then a 350z that can beat a 350z in a 0-60 race.

I'll wait to see what kinda bodie kits come out for it before I decide.

I really dont care how ugly it is, as long as it's FR.

If they F#%$ with us and make it FF, i would throw a fit like all of you. But it would be pretty cool if they made it AWD or something, right?

edit: so why wouldn't they call it the little "sister"?Do you know any guys with the first name "Silvia"?

Considering how the 240SX was marketed in the US, yeah I'd call it the little sister or perhaps the subservient secretary of the Z.

Anyway, even if this car is ever produced and sold here it won't be faster than a 350Z, as another poster mentioned, and it won't look like that picture. When is the last time a car went from concept to production and without drastic changes in styling?

It looks like some kind of warped hybrid thing...yeah, I could see it pumpin at the hydrogen station...

I just hope Nissan gets its head straight before it goes down the drain like Toyota...

OMG! The styling sucks. Hope they change the style before mass production begins.

The tought of making a new model of the 240SX has crossed everyones mind more than once, but that design needs to be changed it kills the style of a 240SX. Its too compact and round, the front and needs to be extended a bit and the design resembles that of 350Z too much. I vote for a new design. This time it should be done by die hard Slivia owners.

All I have to say is that if this thing is gonna come out in that form, it better be a beast.

That, or it better go through some serious styling changes like the R35 has.

the Concept, EVOLV or something like that, was made into the RX-8 .

I hope it isn't like that picture. I like compact and small but thats just too much. It does even look like it could be the successor to the S15. Still if it is a good RWD car (meaning moderately fast and fun as hell to drive) it would be a option for me.

Proof that the French are horrible at designing cars.

They need to change the back as well. From the pictures of it, it looks like either a civic type looking back or rsx type. It's too blunt and sticks up too much (the top part) the front and the back should be more evened out.

Maybe we'll get lucky and nissan will do what ford did with the mustang and go a retro look. I'd rather see something more like that s13 than that piece of crap. Though going off the s15 would work the best. Engine wise I'm sure it have the qr25de or the qg18de. Though the qr25de is even more of a stroker than the ka24de. The qg18de isn't too much different than the sr except it has a lot smaler bore. qg is 80 bore and 88 stroke, sr is 86x86. Be nice to up the qg a little to get a bigger bore and then turbo it. Knowing our luck the japense would get that and we'd end up with an NA qr, which can barely handle boost.

That's just my 2 cents, not like I know anything, except that that is one ugly car.

my god...that's HIDEOUS!

i like that photochop way better.

i wish nissan would consult with US or somwthing before they came up with ****ty concepts. it'd be nice if they held surveys or something in model specific forums like these. i think we could all help nissan out, as consumers.

The first one looks like a Frenchmen took a yellow dump on a piece of design paper and yelled "it is the new S16!".

Anyone else notice that Peugeots seem to have a "lump" look to them?
