i would also get an intake manifold so which will help the intake to get more air and then i'd tune it to get it working to its full potential....... thats even what i'm thinking about doing with my carnogears909 wrote:for the 2.5 id say intake/header/exhaust just to get somewhat of lil extra push. anything more like turbo and you might as well have got a 3.5
When is you BTC arriving?djnastie wrote:Ok so i ordered the Blitz Throttle Controller And now im waiting! i cant wait!
I watched that video, the car is parked there during that demonstration, there is a reason that the ecu limits how high the rpms can go while parked. It looks like this controller removes all the millions of dollars of research and tuning hat nissan has done with drive by wire, and replaces it with what they think is best. keep in mind that nissan knows their vehicles best. If they knew that there was something so simple and cheap that they can do to make the car significantly faster, they would. It is a selling point, think about it.djnastie wrote:Here is another video kinda gives you a comparison with the unit off as well. i cant wait!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccrPtU6yN8I

everybody was so quick to jump on me like a pack of dogs for advising someone not to waste their money on something that looks like a wast of money. the link to the turbonator was sarcastic, and an example of a money wasting product. There are tons of products out there that claim to do good things, but really aren't much good. if you read the last thing i said i even complimented the 2.5cvt, on being good at exactly what it was built for. i gave insightful, accurate, advice, without calling people names. i don't see what everybody is so angry about. just think about it, don't you think nissan has a reason for limiting how much throttle is given to your car when you are already going 90? everybody knows how much worse it is to get your engine up to redline in a higher gear. In a manual red line isn't so bad in 1st and 2nd, even 3rd depending on the car. but especially with the cvt increasing the throttle when you have a transmission that already keeps the engine running at peak horsepower, would do nothing except harm, or possibly slow the car down. I believe the 2.5 comes limited to about 107-108 mph anyways, if i do recall mine. i didn't see though, does this allow you to go above the limited speed? it still feels like it has plenty of pull at that speed.SE-R2049 wrote:If they knew that there was something so simple and cheap that they can do to make the car significantly faster, they would. That is GEEEEENIUSdjnastie wrote:just for your information ive read numerous reviews on this product from sport compact who tested it on a wrx there was a guy on the 350z forum that had it and he said it was a good investment. now we can throw around technical garbage all day long and see who knows more about cylinder wall clearance and cam ratios all we want and still get nowhere. facts and videos usually are pretty accurate. im not even testing this product on my own car first. im renting a 2.5s sedan w/cvt.

EVERYTHING that you do to upgrade your car, that gets horsepower gains, will have some type of drawback that kept the original manufacturer from doing it. Somethings are expensive to do, or made of expensive materials, high flow cats, carbon fiber etc... some things may make the car sound undesirable to the average car buyer... exhaust. And some cause considerable damage to your car... things like this, nitrous, turbos on cars that are naturally aspirated. obviously sometimes upgrade stuff is just plain bogus, too good to be true. This throttle controller will end up in one of the last two categories.
the 2.5cvt is a great highway car, for long distances and getting great mpg. but ive looked and compared a ton of different specs on cars with and w/o cvts, the manual and even standard automatic, the cvt is slower, but a lot more efficient.
on the other hand, i think your car may benefit from one, or even two of these. http://www.turbonator.com/index.html
