Ok, so I have been digging through the forums the past week or 2 looking to gather a bunch of information needed for this tune up.

My car just hit 100k miles (its still very new to me), and I am looking to do some maintenance.

I would first like to change my spark plugs. I am curious what plugs are recommended. Just any NGK? Do they need to be the high end plugs?

I will also be cleaning out the engine as I go, and I would like to clean out the throttle body.
I have read that these cars are very sensitive when it comes to this, and I have jotted down how to reset this if something goes wrong. But what is the sure fire way of not messing anything up and just cleaning it out as best as possible?

I think I may tackle the throttle body bypass during this as well. Which seems pretty straight forward...

Lastly, where are the PCV valves located on the M45? Is it possible to clean them or is it best to replace them? I see they are pretty cheap, so I don't mind buying new ones.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

Here's the location of the PCV valve on the right bank. It screws into the valve cover and the hose is clipped onto it. Look for something similar on the left bank.

For spark plugs, NGK only please. The manual gives 3 options for cold/average/hot conditions. I go for the midrange PLFR5A-11 and they have never failed me. Every Nissan we own recommends these, so I buy in bulk and remember to check the gap despite what any manual tells you.

For the throttle body, no special tricks except remember to not open the valve all the way. In fact, interfere with it as little as possible.
Remove the throttle body. Get throttle body cleaner or carb & choke cleaner and spray both sides of the plate. The body itself will be easy to clean, but you want to wipe the plate without necessarily opening it. Put a finger to prevent it from opening as you wipe it, or just spray and let the chemicals do their magic. I use paper towels and usually I soak one well enough and slide it past the plate, which opens the plate just so slightly so I can clean the contact surface of the plate and the body.
I still have never damaged a TB by cleaning it.
You might need a gasket handy, just in case you damage yours on the way out. And hopefully yours is not too gunked up that you need an idle air relearn after cleaning it.

Then, check your valve cover gaskets for leaks:

Have you located the factory manuals yet?
