Mitsu lucked out and DC remains committed, sort of. I suspect a Mitsu buyout by DC is around the [very distant] corner, since it would fit into their new global strategy. Dieter would have one hell of a mess to clean up.

toyota makes ****loads of cars. Seriously, how many different SUV's do they friggin sell now? the corollas are bargain priced little toaster that look nice, down here in texas every mexican that has a new car seems to drive one (any why not? you can pick one up with lots of standard stuff for the same price as a pos aveo and they look way better). lots of family people buy the camry, and its a darling of the vacation set rental car market. The solora convertible is what all the secretaries drive in the sunny states, the celica is cheap and looks sporty and its lots of kids first car...But I think a big thing for toyota is just that they make so many different models and sell them in so many different markets. throw enough **** out there and someone is likely to buy it. especially consider toyota's reliability record versus the other "major players" especially the domestics.

according to UK auto mag "CAR magazine" Toyota has been the highest world wide seller for the past few years. GM doesn't sell any cars overseas. If you go to europe you will see more than a few fords, but hardly any chevys.

I can tell you that atleast in England, Vauxhaull accounts for probably 50% of all the cars on the road. There are almost twice as many Vauxhaull dealers in the UK than any other manufacturer. They may not be sold under the Chevy name, but they are still GM.
