I must be weird because I think (aside from the 'GT-R' and the wing) it's fvcking cool as hell.

track mustangs have always been great cars. look at the late 60's when Ford was heavily into making cars for the Trans Am series. If they got rid of the ugly paint and the rice wing, I'd be all over the car

yeah the paint needs changing, but other than that, i like it!

The foundation for the Mustang GT-R's race-prepared 440-horsepower engine is the new 5.0-liter Cammer crate engine.Other key differences include forged pistons, an 11.0:1 compression ratio, ported heads, higher-lift cams and beehive-shaped valve springs. The crate engine also features higher-flow fuel injectors and a magnesium, variable-geometry intake manifold.Rounding out the chassis package are huge, race-proven Brembo brakes. The front features 14.3-inch rotors with six-piston calipers; the rear has 13-inch rotors with four-piston calipers. Linking the whole package to the racetrack are 20-inch wheels and racing slicks provided by Pirelli. Tire sizes range from 275/35 in front to 305/30 in the rear.

Bunch of Haters....

that would destroy well over half the cars here

doesn't mean you have to like it, just give it a little respect huh?

oh, I still think it's ugly though, that color is just horrid and the wing doesn't help it...

my brother is into mustangs adn 240's. I'm into 240s and nissans. we constantly rip on each other. So I have to hate it, even if I like it. And having said that the only mustang that i was ever strongly attracted to was the SVO, which is awesome. I also would have driven a Cobra R, but I wouldn't have paid 60k for one.

It is ricey and has no soul.

But Im sure its very fast.

But comparing it to cars on here is a joke. You cant compare a car that is fully custom and costs , Im sure somewhere near 100k, to modded factory nissans.

:rolleyes

I would say it would rape about 98% of the cars on NICO on a open road course. Come on...It is a freaking factory prepped race car. That is no POS street 'Stang or some goofy kids riced out pony car.

You know Ferrari said that one year at Le Mans and Ford Crushed them with 1-2-3 finishes... You people forget ford builds phenomenal race cars, its just their passenger cars that are plauged by first year production jinxs and cars being produced with problems at a higher than average rate still doesn't change the fact their #4 I believe on the Fortune 500 list.. where was Nissan on that list? It may look ricey.. but it least it has the balls to back it up as opposed to most riceboys out there

True, and i never stated otherwise. Just IMO I don't do ford products due to all the problems I've came across or fords that have been thrown into my lap. Even then, I dont base my judgement from those bad apples, Just the company as a -whole-.

What does Ford winning Lemans in the 60s or being on the Fortune 500 list have to do with the fact that their car are always plauged with problems?

They sell alot of Cheap cars........key word is cheap.

Hell my buddy bought a 2003 Cobra for 35k and the problems are as follows.

1- Rear end broke...........TWICE

2- Transmission rebuid.........lost 2nd gear

3- Replaced rear light housing due to condensation

4- Passenger side seat rubs on door. Ford says nothing can be done. Annoying as hell. SQUEEK SQUEEK

And not to mention the dealer let him drive off lot with almost no gas. Almost ran out.

So you pay 35 grand for a car and the car is plauged with problems. This is the best they have to offer?

Ford bulids junk.

everyone's build quality has gone down hill. its as though no one cares about quailty, just quantity. maybe thats why some of the super high-end euro cars are so well built, because its more about quality than quantity.

but i see what he is saying. just saying its a ford and that its not good kinda goes against the heritage of ford. they have done some amazing things in years past, but they arent so great now adays. i mean, hell, it takes a $400k car to get things really right, and it even has problems.
