Im having a very similar problem. I went into a restaurant, Car drove fine. When i came out all 3 lights came on and car went into limp mode. Pressing down on the accelerator wouldn't get the Rpms above 1000.

It was pretty late so i left the car in the parking lot overnight and came back the next morning. The next morning the car started and drove fine. The SES light still came on, but the other 2 lights disappeared.

Also when the problem first occured it had been raining heavy, ( like tornado heavy). I'm not sure if this could have attributed to the problem?

My problem ended up being the throttle body, but I believe that was because the dealer mistakenly tried to clean it (I've read that it's a NO NO). As far as the issue with cleaning the engine bay and a potential water issue, I can't say for sure if the throttle body was related to that. It may have been two separate problems, or the same issue. Ever since the TB was replaced, I've been driving issue free.

FYI, my car would eventually accelerate normally while in limp mode. It takes about 5 seconds and then it slowly ramps up. However, once you slow down the process repeats itself.

My car doesnt' accelerate at all. It just limps along, same as if i were to have my car is drive without pressing the accelerator. How much did the Throttle body end up costing you? i'm assuming you went to the dealer?

I still had a powertrain warranty, so it didn't cost me anything.

Your best bet is to get the codes pulled. Your local Autozone can do it if you don't have a scanner.

I have the same situation with my 2006 G35. I had a mechanic use a meter to read the code - the explanation for the code was something like "camshaft moved". The service engine soon light remains on even after the other two lights go off. On both occasions that this happened, my car was moving very slowly, roughly 5km/hour (3 miles/hour), the car stalled both times, I restarted both times, revved the engine a bit and it returned to normal except that the 3 lights remained on. I'm hoping this is nothing more than a sensor replacement.

Hello all, I feel really bad that I never posted the final resolution to my problem. I know that I'm yrs late but hopefully this will help someone else one day.

The problem ended up being a faulty accelerator pedal (which includes the sensor). Once I replaced the accelerator pedal everything was cool!

Again, my sincere apologies for not posting this information yrs ago when I found the resolution.

Regards,
Lil Red

I have just had the same thing happen to my 2006 G35x. Service engine soon light came on, Slip light came on, VDC light came on. Car seems to be running ok.
