Greetings to all members of Nico!

I have a question:
Does anyone have any positive experience with the HID conversion kit for your 2002 Infiniti Q45 from Ebay?

I'm not prepared to spend $1800 on headlights/HID ballasts from my dealer. Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again and have a nice day!

It 's not a 15 minute bolt in job. Check my thread:

Functionally, the cheaper units will take up to a minute to come up to full power and is noticable though they are acceptable by the time I back out of the driveway.

Hi djwarner,

Very helpful information, thanks a bunch!
Last question:

How long would you estimate the entire job including removal of the front bumper to be....3-4 hours?

Depends on your skill and your plans. I took closer to 8 hours because I had to design and fabricate the alternative mount plates. One point that turned out to be a problem was removing the old wiring because I didn't follow the FSM where it says to use the headlight tilt mechanism to provide necessary clearance.

All in all, it turned out to be more difficult and at the same time more rewarding than I envisioned. I have had zero problems since then.

You should be able to remove your bumper, headlights, etc and reinstall in less than 2 hours. I've done it so many times now I can have the whole front end off in 20 minutes.
