I recently got a 2002 infiniti Qx4 equipped with navigation system and mobile entertainment system. Sadly most of the navigation buttons have fallen off. As a result, the ac is constantly on. I believe it was for that reason the previous owner disconnected the ac compressor belt. I really can't afford a new nav unit. Is there any place I can get those buttons and fix them back?
Secondly, the entertainment unit roof top display doesn't work. There is a toggle switch on the dash I believe is for the entertainment system as I have not seen it on any other Qx4 dash. Can anyone help on how to operate the system. Manual really doesn't say much.
Thirdly, I have the dreaded P0300. The vehicle noticeably misfires at idle. Any definite solution to this.
I need help guys. I have always wanted to own this vehicle. It has 186k miles btw. Bought it off auction at a ridiculous price. It looks good for the amount though. Thanks

Thanks a bunch man. I really appreciate. The climate control repair button link was very helpful. I already have both fsm and user manual, but they didn't really say much about operating the mobile entertainment system. I really appreciate.

Well I was hoping you didn't have the NAV system manual and that the one I provided would have the answers. Oh well, maybe someone else can comment.

As for the P0300 code, I found these for start:
Cam shaft timing issue code P0014, P0300
COIL PACKS
Need Help--no RPM, no Power
3.5 w/P0300 code
p1130 and p0300 code

You are a wonderful moderator. I still am grateful. Went through those links earlier using your recommended forum search. I think I will start with non replacement parts. Cleaning injectors, inspecting vacuum lines and checking for leaks using car spray. If not resolved, then I will proceed to changing spark plugs and maybe coils. What I actually need is a manual guide for operating the dvd mobile entertainment system which is independent of the nav system. Thanks a lot.

lol That navigation unit in the linked thread is actually mine after I pulled it and replaced it with the standard HVAC controls. A number of people have gone that route because no one has found a good solution for the missing buttons other than trying to track down a good used unit.

This thread will give you everything you need to make the conversion. The new controls are much more pleasant to use and in the event something breaks, it's extremely cheap and easy to source a replacement on eBay or pick-a-part yard. Buy a good stereo or a GPS unit and you won't miss the navigation either. The maps are about a decade out of date, so not very useful.

I have performed and strongly recommended the conversion to non-navi setup. Zero regrets! The guide is easily found in search. Welcome.

Sounds like something I should do on my 01 QX4. I'll drive around Seattle area junk yards this weekend looking for a 01 Pathy/QX4. I know nothing about wires though, so hopefully I can follow the guide :D

thanks a lot. The map doesn't even work here as I'm in Nigeria. There is no map CD for Africa too. So conversion is the best way out. Wonder why these companies never consider Africa. All the oem nav systems here are useless.

So I was able to get a technician that fabricated local buttons for the navigation/hvac system. Neatly done work and everything is working perfectly. Thanks to everyone
