Hey all, new to this forum. I have a few random questions so I figured I'd just ask them with my introduction.

I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder LE with approx 290,000kms with a Thule roof box, soon to have a rola roof rack and also a Old man emu 1" Lift kit with medium load springs in the front and heavy loads in the rear :chuckle: so it has a bit done to it.

Right now I have a bit of rust that I'd like to tackle soon so that's something I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with, Also I would I'm tired of using cassette players so I'm wondering if anyone has done a double DIN swap and how they managed to retain the crisp Bose/ Clarion factory sound system!

(Also, i'd post a photo but i have no idea how to..

First off, :welcome:

Where's the rust you're seeing? The reason I ask is because Pathfinders and QX4s have a noted rust problem where the shock towers can rust and rot out which becomes extremely dangerous. If you're not already looking at it, look at your shock towers before you do anything else. This thread has all of the info on that.

As far as the stereo goes, there are a few threads on folks who kept the stock speakers (and installed double-DIN stereos), but the unanimous consent is that even cheap aftermarket speakers will sound significantly better than the factory Bose ones. The biggest problem is the factory speakers run at something like 2Ω. I'd do a search for stereo upgrade or Bose and take a look at the threads that come up (there are a number). Using this search box will restrict your search to the Pathfinder/QX4 forum.

This one may be a good starting point though.
