How much miles do you guys get out of a tank full? I normally drive slow and dont beat on the car. Some highway driving but mostly city driving and still manage 200 miles per tank. Just wondering if you guys get the same.

I get a little over 200 miles per tank with mixed driving in Los Angeles.

Do you have a lead foot too?

How big is the tank - I'm in LA also wondering how bad it actually is thought it got 15-17 city driving? Is it only a 11-12 gallon tank?

The tank is about 18 gallons.

I've noticed a Sharpe decline in my mileage too in the last few weeks. I thought that it was because of my driving, mostly city stop light to stop light. But the one factor that has changed in since we are all in the the LA area, is that the gas has begun to be switched over to the summer blend, hence one of the reasons for the sharpe raise in the gas prices. Maybe this is a factor???

The tank is 20 gallons. Are you guys using at least 91 octane? If you are using 87 or 89 the engine might get lower MPG.

I do notice that these cars get pretty horrible gas mileage. I have an '06 M45, I get about 325 per tank when i'm ALL highway, I mean like 90 miles to a client one way. I think that is about as much as you can suck outta these things.

I have m35X, which should only get about 1MPG better than a M45. I use 87 octane and have a mix of country roads and city streets on my daily drive. I am getting 21.4MPG and nearly 400 miles per tank.

21.4mpg is actually considered pretty good on mixing driving for the m35x. I struggle to get 13mpg on mix driving.

I have a 20+ gallon tank in my 2003 M45 and regularly get just over 300 miles per tank full. With mixed 40% highway 60% city driving. I don't have a gentle foot.

Hello,Even with the gas gauge working as it should, my carputer often goes down to xxxx miles to empty while still having 3.5 gallons remaining. I think they designed it to make you refuel far before it runs out. I suppose not to dissimilar to little Civics which can run for days with the gas light on.Cheers,ML

most I ever had was 404miles on my m45 with mixed driving - gets 21 pretty consistantly always hand calculated, the computer is pretty accurate but I've seen it off 1-1.5mpgs before.

I've done trips where I got up to 27mpgs but that was cross country so I never maxed out the tank. Of course I drove like I was driving miss daisy, but it is possible if you carefully watch the instant mpg gauge and pop it into neutral coasting down the hills....I beleive that it's called hyper-miling or something like that since you have to shut off your engine to actually hyper-mile your car.

200 seems horribly low, but i guess the summer fuel could be to blame. If Cali just got it, then I'm sure to see it here in AZ soon. I'll keep an eye out for the fuel economy to drop.

It's impossible to compare "miles per tank" unless everyone is driving until they run out of gas. Some fill up when just below 1/4 (me) some wait to 1/8 and some wait until the light comes on. Plus I guarantee our guages are not exact. So . . . .

reset your trip meter when you fill up. Drive about 200 miles then refill and see how many gallons used. divide 200 (or whatever - 202 or 198...) by the gallons to refill and that's your REAL MPG. Be sure to use the same station and pump to avoid pressure and pump differences, and fill until it clicks off - don't top it off to begin with or when you refill.

In my 2003 M45, 40K miles, BG44K run through it every 5K miles, and I am averaging 17.6 MPG in mixed driving... and trust me I do NOT baby it when I drive it. I bought a honkin' V8 for a reason and it sure wasn't gas mileage.

Phoenix to San Diego and Back netted 22mpg for the trip; 90% interstates at 80+ MPH most of the way. I saw 100 a few times, just because... the devil made me do it.

Tires at 36psi, new air filter and Chevron Premium fuel.

Wow, so drive until the car died (so it makes the full tank)? You know that is not good for the car.

You hit the nail on the head. This is how you get you real MPG. Also It will still vary car to car because different tire pressures and rolling resistances.

Do you really think that I drive the car to it's completely empty?? I was simply calculating how may miles I do on a 1/4 tank and I added the difference. I never let my tank go below 1/4!!

I never run the tank down to "E". Always refill at or before 1/4 tank. Tank is about 20 gallons and I usually put between 14 to 15 gallons in the tank when I fill up. I consistently get between 21.5 and 22 MPG in mixed driving which would mean I would get about 430 miles out of a tank if I were to run it dry. I use 93 octane. Oddly enough I don't get much better mileage when I take a hiway trip. Driving at 65 - 70 MPH with cruise control set I still only get about 23 MPG.

I'm getting around 400 mile per filll up. I do about even between highway and street driving. I watch the milage i put on my car as well as the gas hand and i fill up when i get up around 350 miles, which is normally a 1/4 tank. I do baby the car at times because i'm getting close to the end of my warranty and well lets just say i don't have the best luck in the world. When i need that speed fix i break out the stang

I usually get around 22 MPG. The most so far (have had my car about 6 weeks) is 23 MPG. But I like to get on it sometimes. I drive about 90% highway at 70 MPH+

In my '04 M45 (50k miles), I get barely over 200 miles per tank, also. my carputer says I average 14.5 miles per gallon and I am not a lead-foot. I am practically a hyper-miler! I ALWAYS put the factory AC control on "ECONO" setting, instead of letting the compressor run like crazy. It's a shame you can't completely disable the A/C compressor from coming on, too. This is the only car I've ever owned that won't allow you to just blow "air" without the compressor running? gotta always crack a window or the sunroof with the system off.

Oh well... love the hell out of this car, otherwise.

I'm a lead foot and do 90% city driving. The carputer say ~13.4MPG and I usually fill up with 17 - 18 gallons around 220 - 250.

No, I was just messing with you - my point is to make sure when people say how many miles they get from a tank, it is truely a full tank instead of per fill up, which could be between 14 - 19 gallons. You answered my question in a cool way - I appreciate that.

Happy M-ing!
