Ask and you shall receive.....

Sorry I don't have a better pic, took that one with my phone, haven't had the chance to take a proper pic.

It looks a lot better than the 2 megapixel phone shows, when you open the door everything like lights up blue, it looks excellent especially with the orange stock stuff, it lights up the outside a bit too when you open the door. I love it

I think the UV will look nice, but don't drive around with it on. Your eyes will start straining, I'm not sure the exact science behind it, something with rods and cones in your eyes. Doc has more info on that you can ask him

lol yea, i'm thinking maybe wire them to the door lights if possible so they come on when the door opens... would a 9.5 inch be too long, and show too much light? should i go smaller?

That s***'ll melt your brain pretty damn quick. If it's in your footwells it might not be as much of a problem though...mine are in my air vents so you really get the full glow from them! If you do decide to go with UV/blacklight, remember to get 1-1/2 or 2 times as many lights as you would for normal LEDs. I think I mentioned this before, but I figure it's worth throwing out there once again...UV LEDs aren't very bright at all. They're a much shorter wavelength than the other colours and therefore have less projected visible light.

lol i don't think i knew that you had to double up the amount of UV/blacklight. do you have some pics of your vents with them? i saw the 1 pic on the "post your interior LED setup" but it's at a side angle. do you have a more clearer shot?

You can definitely tap into your step lights (on the door) but unless you split the wire you will only to be able to have those lights on while the doors are open which kind of sucks.

I have one led strip under my seat and it's hooked up to my rear defroster

is there a way to have it turn on when the doors open & also have it hooked up to a switch so I can turn them on/off when doors are closed?

I'm pretty sure if you grab the power wires from the LED and connect them to two seperate wires (one leading to the power wire of the door, and the other to the switch) it should work from both.

ok cool. i'm gonna have to get some time to do this. now, ESP said to get 1-1/2 or 2 times as many lights as you would for normal LEDs with the UV/blacklight. now would this still be true if I get a 9.5 inch flexibile LED strip from Oznium?

I would double up. I have one blue 9.5" strip under each side of the dash (driver and passenger) and it's just bright enough. I think doubling up the UV would be perfect.

Also with my last post about splitting the wires, let Phenom or SurmanM reply to that because I am not 100% sure that would work but I am like 97% sure. Just don't want you going out and wasting money if it wouldn't work ya know

ok if ur gonna do this the best way is to do what i did.......Put one set under the dash "by ur feet" and the other one under the bar that pushes the seat back.

as to the part with the wiring im not sure on that but i wouldnt do that bc its gonna be annoying to have a set hooked up like that. Meaning ude have wires sticking out bc i doubt u can hide them perfectly "not doubting u just doubting space". If you want to add leds to like ur doors or under the doors and wire em to the "open door turn on part" itd be better than doing the whole footwels like that. And you want the leds to last best way is to not have them on all the time i would just throw a switch to em bc "technically" if u have it set up like this it could be looked at as illegal if u get a d!ck cop "or by me it would be",,,,,,we cant have any footwell or underglow on while driving. Just do a switch and u can turn em on every time u get in if u want.

Oh there is a contraption that does "split" the wires so u could run it to the doors too ive seen it b4 so IT CAN BE DONE BUT i would just stick to a switch bc i wouldnt know where to wire it w/out seeing it

whi hoo, King of Lights to the rescue!

thanks for all the info, putting one under the seat does sound a lot better than having 2 under the dash. I most likely will go with a switch when I hook them up. Now should I do a separate switch for the footwells, or should I just hook them up to the switch I have for my cup holders?

I think after hearing Phenom's response and you still wanted to do both. You could wire from under the seat (or dash), have the wires ran up to the back of the dash behind wear the trunk release is and everything. Have it split so you can have a switch near your trunk release, and just run the other wire through that moon shaped plastic piece by the very left vent. Have a wire from there and then through the door panel to the step light.

Major hassle for minimal benefit but if you were set on doing that, I think that would be the best way to hide the wires.

Phenom has way more experience with this stuff though, I am inputing my thoughts on this but ultimately I would listen to his advice

I agree BUT when you do the ones scratch that IF you do the ones on the support bar under the seat "the one that moves it bk n forth" use both the tape AND get those lock/twist tie things and use like 3 of em i could take a pic if need be

If you're buying lights from oznium, or superbrightleds or I guess any other manufacturer, I'm sure they come with the tape. All my light strips from oznium did.

Ya with my extra LED strip I just have it resting under my seat. I wish I had a manual seat, these automatic ones are a pain to move...

I will look in the morning, but I'm sure there is an easy way to mount them to the carpeting under the seat

where did you put yours? did you just lay it under the seat? or did you mount it somewhere?

No I just layed it there. It's resting by where the carpet ends near the seat. It's not bright at all but it's just there temporarily until I get some more lights and have them mounted somewhere correctly

Ok, so my LEDs finally came in today, and I installed them this evening. Had to wait for the sun to go down to take some pics. It looks kinda blue in the pic, but in person it's brighter and a soft blacklight/purple/blue... not too bright to where it's distracting, and not too dim... just enough light to do the job...
