I just dropped an s13 blacktop SR20DET into my 240sx, runs great, but when I'm coming to a stop and I put the clutch in it keeps wanting to stall (or sometimes does) and I'm wondering what the problem might be.

My second question is, I took my oil cap off, and noticed my oil kind of smells like fuel, and I wondered what that might be, if my rings may be going out, or if it's just possibly running too rich. If it is, what could I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

recirc your bov, that will fix the stalling, and it really depends how bad the oil smells of fuel, mine has always had a hint of fuel smell, it is an inherent issue with rich running forced induction engines, SRs run rather rich stock. As long as you change your oil and filter regularly preferably using synthetic oil, you shouldnt have any problems. If the Oil smells strongly of fuel, you may want to check your compression, your fuel injector O rings and fuel pressure.

I'm wondering if maybe my Fuel pressure regulator is bad....does anyone know if the stock KA FPR will work on my SR?

And also what might be the cause of my car running so rich? And what might I do about it?

The RWD SR has an FPR specific to the car. I don't know of any US variants that use the same unit.

If your car is running massive rich, I suggest replacing your O2 sensor. When they get dirty and old, they tend to let the car run richer.

But SRs really do run rich in stock form. It's a stop gap measure from the factory to keep someone from detonating their motor because they were running way lean. Every book I've ever read on designing turbo systems have said that it's best to run a little rich on a turbo system.

If running an el-cheapo you need to recirc the BOV to the nipple on intake tube between MAF and turbo. This is one of the biggest things plaguing the SR world. HKS and the newer GReddy units are better but occasionally even on the hardest setting they can pass gass so to speak.

The BOV leak will also make you run very rich. The reason it dies is because it is so rich. Other reasons to run rich are listed in numerous posts. Not hating on you but noone feals like typing the same thing many times over.
