Gas went from $1.879 this morning, to $1.979 this afternoon.

This has gotta stop!

Just the thought of John Kerry being close to George W Bush, in the poles has raised gas prices;) .

It's too bad OPEC can't be sued, like Bill Gates was, over Microsoft.

I need to find a diesel engine swap for my Q.:(

Not bad. We've been bouncing back and forth between 1.88 and 1.97 for premium. I think we'll settle down around a buck ninety-five.

Yeah - I dropped $2.17/gal this morning. And I filled up. And I was HAPPY about it! :)

Weenies.

One gas station went up to 1.94 for 87 2.04 for 89 and 2.14 for 93 the other day but then the gas station in another local town(i live 2 min from each) was 1.79 for 87 and so on. Go figure.

Okay, so one gas station in Half Moon Bay has super for $2.55, how's that grab you. That is Shell, the off-brand across the street is a bargain at $2.45.

But the kicker is I do not need snow tires and I do not endure 115 degree summer days....Bay Area life, love it or leave it.

Weenies my a$$, just because you were born there or somehow wound up there, doesn't mean you were sentenced to live there.

HD, still never paid over $1.8x per gallon, for Mobil/Exxon or Chevron 93.

(but the humidity will kill ya here)

Now jinxed because I bragged about it.

Regular here has now reached $1.99.9.

As I have been describing in the "World Petro Energy Overview" thread, there are definite reasons that we will never see "cheap" gas prices again: Diminishing supply, increased demand and fears about supply security. For instance, Venezuelan production is falling off which means that more oil must be imported from the Middle East which in turn means increased transportation (tanker) costs coupled with tanker insurance that has doubled for ships traveling to the Persian Gulf.

The recent US activity in Iraq has emboldened terrorists. Bin Laden predicted $100/barrel oil. As of this morning, oil is knocking on the door of $40 @ $39.90! And this with "leakage" from OPEC members at 1.5 mbpd over their set production limits!

Crude prices could come down to the low $30s at some point but that would only be temporary. The cheap oil is gone. In fact, the oil drillers have all lost large amounts of market cap even with oil at all time high prices. Why? There is less oil to be discovered.

Maybe we can add $2.00 per gallon to pay for the deficit instead of taxing people without cars or inflating our currency again $ vs Euro.

We were joking around earlier at T3 about swapping a SR20 turbo into a Q.........might be drivable.

LOL! Where do politics enter into anything I said. You are paranoid.

Gas is now $2.02.9 for regular here today. The good news it that the preminium gas I require for the J is a relative bargain at $2.20 as the percentage spread between reg. and prem. price narrows.

Oil cracked the $40/barrel mark today. Oil is a finite and diminishing resource. Peak oil production will occur between 2010 and 2020. Demand is outstripping supply.

Lefty facts? Hardly. Just facts.

Should nyone care to learn about the world oil supply, check out the many links on the "Petro" thread.

AZ94, where do you get off telling me where I can post on NICO, "newbie"? LMAO!

Screw suing OPEC. Sue George Bush and the rest of his oil hording cronies. They're the ones sitting on top of all the oil production in the Gulf states. We have enough oil to make gas cheaply. It's just been decided that we won't have cheap gas, and instead of using our own oil, we're going to go trade blood and lives for someone else's oil.

You haven't read one damn link. LOL!

Alaska only has 9 billion barrels of estimated reserves or 5 years worth of imports total. For crying out loud! Educate yourself before you start spouting crap. Mexico is past peak production. Russian reserves are in decline.

Do your reactionary little self a favour and get informed.

You're a looney toon. LOL!

We have no idea how much oil ALASKA has.. We haven't drilled to it's full potential.. Mexico is investing heavily to find new oil.. we don't know what will happen here..

Russia has syberia.. You have no idea of the oil potential there..

I don't need to read your links.. it's leftist trash, just like you.

Go back to posting in your own thread.

Either do I..

The difference? I don't try to pass off leftist conspiracy theorist BS propoganda as TRUE HARD FACTS, like you do..

You have no idea what will happen.. for every fact you spew, I can spew another to contradict you..

You have said one thing and one thing only, that is true..

Vimy,

What are you predictions for crude oil and avg gas prices through the year?

I can't wait to call you on it, when you're wrong..

One last thing: don't tell me to read your links.. they are leftist nonsense.. I could produce links saying bush planned 9/11 and elvis is not dead.. That's about as believable as your links are...

Have a nice day.. Can't wait to hear your predictions on crude.. what's wrong.. do you have to look at your lefty websites for answers? Can't formulate an opinon on your own?

Enough...

Ryan, just in case you think you're the first one who's ever danced with Mike (Vimy) on such matters, be advised that he and I (and others) did so 2 years ago.

We agreed to disagree and have been peacefully coexisting since.

No more with the name calling (both of you), let's just await the outcomes. Then one of you is welcome to dig up an old thread and point out the other's mistake.

Or you can do something productive. :D

I'm not budging one inch on this issue. You can cancel my nico account if you want. I won't let a lefty bombthrow spew out biased facts, as if it were fact. I love nico, but I won't go down listening to some paranoid idealogue scare other normal functioning members of society..

Do what you will

After doing some converting from litres to gallons and than converting from Canadian dollars to U.S. dollars, premium gas per gallon works out to just a bit over $3 (U.S.) in the Toronto area. It cost more in other parts of Canada (close to $4/gallon). At under $2 (U.S.) a gallon you guys still have it cheap.

Fortunatly I can write off my gas costs so I'm still putting premiun in the J, but driving it far less.

There has been a pretty loud consumer revolt up here recently. Especially since all the Canadian oil companies reported record profits. Some of the provinces are drawing up draft legislation that would force oil companies to seek permission before hiking gas prices anywhere from $0.05 per litre to $0.10 per litre overnight.

Then you'd better go take out John Kerry, Ralph Nader, Danny Glover, Charlie Sheen, Jane Fonda, Mary Steenburgen, Ted Danson, Barabara Streisand and the entire staff of National Public Radio.

They're reaching a lot more people than Mike is.

Driver,

We have it well... better then most countries.. This is because we don't tax the gas, so highly.. I would also argue our economy is more dependent on oil then most.. our land is vast, and we are still a car driven economy..

What we need is something besides derailing amtrak trains to get us around...
