1998 240 SE cruise issue

naturally the cruise doenst engage unless the clutch is ALL the way up. well my clutch settles like a 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch from top has a lil play... when i bought the car the guy said its just a simple spring i gotta put on there i looked all around the clutch couldnt find any sort of spring or some **** SO im wondering what it really is or WHERE the spring is lol. friend has an s13 and his cruise control isnt even hooked up and he isnt going to do it and said if i can figure out what it IS then i can have his. any help guys?

Here is a picture of an s14 clutch pedal it shows the spring and the switch. zerothread?id=234818. Have you tried adjusting the switch so it will engage?

nah i havent this is my first stick car so im new to the whole clutch dealy but cool i should be able to just loosen that nut and adjust it i believe from what i understand on that or am i mistaken? looks like i just turn the rod and push it more onto the "fork" and therefor extending the pedal right? lemme know! thanks a lot :D

oh and is the spring dealy that i need to replace the coiled up spring-looking thingie? is that what actually tells the cruise that the clutch is not compressed? i really have no idea like i said the guy i bought it from said its just a spring i need to replace...
