1997 1.6 into 1991 sentra??

Hello everyone im in need of some help.. ok so my 1991 sentras engine took a crap (1.6 ltr)... I happen to find another 1.6 out of a 1997 sentra with only 84k miles on it for a screaming deal..i doo a little research on the internet and it seems like everything will swap right over except for a few wiring and sensors.. so i i do the swap put all the parts over to the new engine from my old one dropp it right in.. but come to find out the lower intake doesnt match up wit the heads from the new engine... i could change over to the new inatke but then all the sensors are diferent and the vacum lines are different as well... has anyone done a swap like this before???? Im getting to the point of just getting rid of the car since i cant figure out what the hell to do!!!!

What exactly doesn't match up? Just the mounting bolts?

Well the actual ports from the newer engines head are staggered somewhat as compared to the old engines lower intake... They bolt up perfectly , but when I bolted my intake from the 91 engine on it it didn't line up right and started to leak antifreeze because its not matching up right... After removing the intake again I realized that they didn't line up correctly.. Now I was thinking of using the newer intake if I can figure out the wiring and sensor situation but that's really way above what I can do tintype car ... I'm so frustrated with it at this point that if I don't get it running in 2 more weeks I'm just either gonna part it out or call the damn junk yard to pick it up...

ok fellas been a while but i made some progress. part of the problem was that i was putting an obdII engine and complete system in to an odbI car.. well i have all the sensors and new engine harness with pcm installed only problem is i have a few connections that dont match up under the dash... does any one know what soem are for ill post pics later when i figure out how to post them on here..i have everything connected , as far as engine goes but theres 3 little plugs that go under dash to waht seems to go to gauges side... damm this sucks so close yet so far!!!

Sure, post pictures. Can you just run the car without connecting them? They might be for an immobilizer or something though :/

its weird i cam see the pics on my iphone but when i get on the pc all i see is a bunch of little dots going in a circle wth!! i follwed the steps you provided for photobucket.. ill try and figure it out

I just went and looked at your photobucket profile. It looks like those pics you uploaded are just small and low resolution. Did you use a cell phone or something? The pictures of the dog are normal sized.

Not sure what they are, but that big honking sucker looks important.

The bigo' one is the one that connects to the brain.. blue goes in to the back of the of the back of the brain( theres a seperate plug for it). Im trying to figure out what those other two are for,. Colors are different from the old one

Im wondering if its for cruise control or an air bag or something like that...

I was trying to fing some of those wires on a squematic but i cant find one online.. Gonna go buy one saturday after work

Eh, go to start the car. If it starts and runs fine, then who cares, unless you are missing some serious gauges or something... but then you'll know what they're for!
