Nice job man i wish mine ran that well right after dropping it in! Its a good thing you didnt rev it any higher or that turbo would be shot!

Turbo bearings are only made to spin to a certian rpm (130k depending on the turbo) when you dont have an intercooler pipe hooked up going to the throttle body there is nothing to push back to the turbo to slow the spool so it will just speed up more and more. If you rev a car without any type of back pressure pushing back it will spin and rapidly wear the bearings and seals out. This what i read in Max Boost... Its like the turbo bible

i do its a beauty. wired in my egt boost and oil pressure today, wideband tommorow. but my tach stopped working... has voltage on ign side has a ground and has 3-4 volts on the signal side when running. just doesnt work. worked yesterday but now nothing. wiggled connections and still not working. any ideas?

What are the units (I assume F)... i assume you're talking about 1200 deg EGT? What were your running conditions (when do you see 1200) and what's the temp profile look like (how does it change under different driving conditions, ie. boost, rpm, throttle position etc)?

What do you mean about the tach? The gauge shot was very short and a bit jumpy... didn't get to really see anything

Oh and I did see your EGT probe is in your manifold not the DP right?

I think 1200 F is ok...but dont go any high in temp...1500 F will melt alum. pistons...1200 F is what i was running on my dyno motor...so it should be fine... ...

1200f under boost if i revved the car at idle it would jump up a bit dont know exactly what to but it moved a bit then, just under boost the highest was 1200, its in my manifold as you can see in the pic with the brake line. ok and the tach story, i had the tach working fine just wasnt calibrated, so i hooked up the tach then ran a wire out of the back of the plug to the stock rb tach, but my friend hooked up the tach end and accidentally touched the wrong wires to the back and both tachs stopped working, im guessing its fried but any other ideas? it has power, a ground, and the signal wire gets 3-4 volts when idling/ revving.

So what temp are you idling at currently? What's your base timing set at... those will help. Stock ecu? Piggy backs?

Could you post a diagram of what happened with the tach? Pic made in paint or excel is fine... just having a hard time picturing what happened... someone else might have a better clue as to what happened though.

Which "wrong wires" touched the back? This is while the two tachs were connected to the signal wire? This is where a diagram would help...

sorry theres three wires on the back, ign which is power, ground, and signal, im not sure which ones but he said **** i hooked it up wrong and pulled them off, when i turn the key to start it the tach jumps to about 3k rpm and then back to nothing, and only the first time i start it . we just used the 3 screws on the back for those 3 leads, do you still want a diagram?

Try checking your voltage on the ign wire you're pulling power from in off/key on/engine running... let me know what you find. You can email my personal email at [email protected] if you want I'll try to help you sort through it the best I can...

yep. haha lots k got lazy, done alot since i posted last, blew the last motor and swapped in another one. had the old one dynoed at 256whp at 15psi, new one has less k and a rb25 turbo. so with my new injectors and more boost im shooting for around the 3 mark. painted car shadow grey metallicfront 20mm fenderscage installedremoved all carpet and bedlinered insidestripped rear harness of un needed wiring and tucked it in the framesparco sprints and rci harnessesrota p45rs. specs on wheels are 18x9.5 +20s with an 8mm spacer (wheels took like 3 months to get here and +12s where custom and wouldve been another 3 months)pics!

heres my other wheels with azenis in front for sliding and s***ty drift tires in rear

ill get some new engine bay shots later since its been cleaned up
