This car is damaged in front, the radiator pushed in to the fan. I am trying to replace the radiator support,Fenders and bumper. I need to open the trunk in order to store some of the stuff I took off( lights, etc.). I just got it out of park after a week of working with it in my spare time. I have the bumper off and ready to take the fenders off. I still can't get the key out of the ignition. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Also, can I get in the trunk through the back seat? Anyone in Southern California that has information on the parting out of a 1990 Q45 front end, I would appreciate. the info. Would the front end of the 1991, 1992, 0r 1993 fit. The reason I am trying to put this back together is that the car had been gone through.
Thanks
Bill

There is a little plastic trim piece that goes around the ignition switch, that just snaps into the trim pieces that go around the steering column. With a small screwdriver, pop out that little trim piece. Behind that trim piece you'll see a small switch that's got like a red lever or tab on it. If you slide that switch, you will be able to remove the key.

I'm almost 100% sure you can flip that switch without removing the trim pieces around the steering column, but if not then you'll have to remove those plastic pieces around the steering column which only takes a few minutes.

You can also remove the rear deck cover and storage bin, and reach the internal trunk release to get the trunk open.

Any front end from a 90-93 will bolt right on.

I'm pretty sure there's no internal trunk release on the '90. Maybe it was added by '96?

Are you talking about one of these:

No 1990-2001 Q45 has one as far as I know.

No I am not, if you look at the release on the trunk lock there is a little lever to pop the trunk by hand. I know every Q45 I have owned has had one, oldest being a 93.

as I though, even 1990s have them. If you look at the link above, you can see the internal manual open for the trunk. Im pretty sure every car had to have one, because of the whole kidnapping/being locked in the trunk thing.
