1990 240sx VG30ET swap

So has any one pulled this off. I have a motor and 5spd trans out of a wrecked 300z. I would like to see them together but I don't know what I might be getting in to. I have the shop and equipment to fabricate . I just don't know if its worth my time. Any info would be cool.

yea it will take time cause its a real tite fit no room lol but people put ls1 in 240sx so it caint be too bad lol the tork will be sick would make a good drift car haha

I have no idea which VG is in here... I just googled 'VG30ET S13' & and bunch of threads popped up along with this vid. Get to searching, OP. The info is out there...

The info is pretty limited. I am doing the VG30DETT as we speak into my S14. There is not hardly anything on it at all I dont' see the single cam being much more common.

its not where i live in mo. my car alone is not common lol nor the 300zx caint find them in junk yards eather haha u just wite till some one parts one out the buy all u can .haha

I lived in Monett for a while. I grew up in aurora my whole life. the 87-88 200sx SEV6 was a s chassis that came stock with a vg30e the cross member might help. the vg30et sits a few inches further forward than the vg30e due to the rear cross over pipe. you should make custom mounts.

Thanks for all your help guys i appreciate the information. I am going to buy the engine mount kit I found online and go from there. This is going to be an interesting swap i will keep you guys updated. Thanks again.

I could have swore that I found a company a couple of weeks ago that made an engine swap setup for my vg30et to go in to my s13 engine bay. I can't seem to find it now. The same company also offered an oil pan and oil pick up assembly that would fit around the steering setup. Does anyone know which company that was?

There is a guy on here that is using that kit. I bought a j30 pan and pickup tube. I am going to custom fab all the mounts. I am doing the twin turbo so I am not sure how well some of that stuff will fit.

Hmmm, thanks for the link. I found a Z31 rolling chassis for 100.00 bucks. It was set up for a 5speed but no turbo. Is the rear end the same? I was thinking about just bolting a build together because i don't really have the time to do the custom swap. I got my engine and trans out of the 50th anniversary which was a 1984 model, so i imagine it should bolt in besides the driveshaft.

will have to do that. some time i am buliding a blanced ka24det right now for my car going to be sweet. an then going to a gt2871r turbo, later with 550cc injectors. what you running

My s12 is a cool project. I have s14 front suspension, s14 ka, s14 gauge cluster, and a few engine and drivetrain mods. It's in the final stages of it's build. I am hoping to make it to z fest.

yea i hope i have my my car painted lol is all primer gray right now doing some tuch up body then painting it jet black.
