I was just wondering if anyone has seen a proven, inexpensive and readily available brake upgrade for a 4 lug pattern 240. I know a site called fastbrakes offered some for under 1,000 but their site has gone down and I cant get access.

Just checking to see if anyone has seen a reliable upgrade for under $1,000

Just drill your rotors for 4 lugs, it's easy -- you can also have a machine shop do it for you for super cheap.

I dont have the rotors yet. I'm looking for a good upgrade over the stock rotors and calipers. The fastbrakes.com upgrade was/is only $750 or so for a complete rotor and 4 piston caliper upgrade. I'm just looking for something similair since the site is down.

^ Yep. Do the Z32's. The only problem that he'll encounter is that he'll need to get new rims which will probably put him over budget.

I have 5Zigen FN01RC wheels, god damned tire rub when s.wheel is fully turned, I'm just wondering if I should upgrade the calipers now or if I should be fine with just a larger rotor size when I'm pushin 330hp.

Here's a pic btw

Meh. Unless you see dedicated track duty there is no real need for the brakes.

I dont really take it to tracks, Ikind of want the option to but what I'm lookin for is stopping power/sudden slowdown from 100+ mph. Like when I'm on the highway and some jacka$$ pulls out in front of me doin only 3 mph than the guy he's passing.

Here's what I was looking at

http://fastbrakes.com/shop/index.php?cPath=30_41

hmmm.......I wondewr what my car would look like with a side pipe...?

Well the Z32's have a tendency to lock easily. I wouldn't use them for street braking.

Q45 or J30 brakes are relatively inexpensive and are abundant in most junkyards ive been to. it bolts up to the oem lines and knuckles, and clears OEM wheels. all you need to do is drill the rotors to 4 lug.

Do the Q45 brakes come with 2 or 4 piston calipers?

2 but the important aspect of the Q45 brakes are that the pistons are on the backside of the caliper allowing for the stock wheel clearance.

But I should be good with the 2 piston calipers for what I want correct? Any recommended upgrades for the rear brakes?

For your purposes the Q45 fronts should suffice. The rear brakes I wouldn't fool with beyond slotted rotors and better brake pads as the fronts do the greater majority of the stopping work. (I also say this because I'm a lazy bastard and rear swaps take a lot of work IMO)

I think I'm gonna do the Q45 upgrade http://www.frsport.com/_c_12.html Can someone verify this, I read that they had 30% more stopping power over stock. Is this true?

What year Q45 would be the best one to get the calipers and rotors from? I've got front and rear Z32 30mm aluminum calipers, but I don't really want to fool with getting rims and crap to fit them. So if I can get the Q45 setup, then I'll be more than willing to get rid of my Z32 stuff.

That's a good question, which year would be the best, or are they all the same?

Aren't Infiniti parts slighty more expensive?

I'm just seeing if there's something out there for all 4 wheels. I know a rear kit at fastbrakes is $250 for new rotors but it requires the use of 12 inch fronts.

Honestly I wouldn't do Q45 brakes myself. For the price you could have purchased the 4 piston Z32's.

I've already got a set of 30mm Z32 Aluminum Calipers for front and rear. And for the price, that's really not a factor.

Q45 Brakes will give you NO clearance problems. You can run stock wheels. That's why it's a big alternative to some of the 'Big Brake' upgrades. And if people have already bought S13 replacement braided brake lines, the Q45's will bolt right on. Where as the Z32's need special lines.

That's my $.02.... Which really isn't worth that much at all, really.. LoL

But the Q45's don't have the way cool Nissan and Sumitomo logos. What wheels are you running BTW that clear the 30 mm's?
