I have to check how big my wheels are. I just want to have the option of track running but still maintain streetability.

Contrary to popular belief neither offset nor wheel size (to a certain extent) govern brake clearance. The design of the spokes is most important.

That's true, but the brand spankin' Q45 calipers would look much better than the spray can red stock calipers I've got now. The Q calipers still look pretty good in their own standing.

LoL True that! Nothing can beat the sweet logo on the Z32 calipers! But I'm lazy and really don't want to spend the time looking for rims. Plus then I have to upgrade to the Z32 master cylinder. Bah, even more work.. lol

I've heard that the master cylinder swap isn't really necessary. I've even heard that it can be dangerous as the increase in power can cause sensitive lockup.

I agree with you on that. If I do the 300ZX, I have to change out so many other things, that's one of the main reasons I'm considering the Q conversion instead.

My tire size is 225/45 R17. I forgot the size of my wheels but I think that they are the min. size

I just want to make sure that if I go either route, Z32 or otherwise, that the calipers and rotor size will clear. Does anyone know enough about tires to determine my rim size from my tire specs above?

I mean, I want the ability to go to the track but also for my car to be streetable.

Another issue I have is my tach, it doesnt work with the SR20 swap, anyone have any places for a proper replacement to put in the instrument cluster??(I have an autometer tach right now)

so does anyone know a kit that is offered that has the ease of install of a Q45 kit but the stopping power of a Z32 kit? I also would like to know if there's a way to upgrade the rear brakes and still keep the parking/e-brake without having to remove the axle spindle to put on a drum type of e-brake like in the Z32

Now I'm just curious about the rears. I know the calipers dont really need to be messed with. I'm just wondering if any place has a rotor upgrade that still goes with the stock calipers.

The Fastbrakes site does but its only good if you have at least 12 inch front rotors for brake bias.

Powerslot sells some rotors for the stock rears. I'd say do a stainless line conversion, some Hawk HPS pads and the rotors and the rear should be golden.

I guess not. I just cant find anything for the rear calipers as far as an upgrade. Anyone have any luck besides me?
