97 was the first year for the second generation Q. They still came with two master keys but they no longer were the heavy metal lazer cut keys. They were much cheaper with a almost square, black plastic cover with a small gold Infiniti logo in the center.

I got a key from https://www.keylessshop.com/carkeys using the vin for 65 bucks. You'll have to have it programmed locally.

Yeah I’ve seen those. It’s well worth he $29.99 investment for the original genuine Infiniti key

I have a key I found in the job box. Not sure what it was from. If anyone wants a pc of Infiniti I’m open to trades. These keys are long gone. A Nismo collector might like one.

I thought the vallet was the black top, I’ve seen them a purple too. The flat key was a emergency key?
In the leather key cases that came in the “ pizza Boxes” had Space for the vallet key to slip into. The key cases went to black at the end of the run on them. Diff keychains were through the years too, I have a bag of them if anyone wants to trade for anything.
I’ll take that oval case off your hands. Lol

Wow that’s great. Yes, that was the original key case and you remember the “pizza box” terminology. 😊

I only have 1 burg one, I had a stack of black ones, but I’ve been using them for the last 20 years.
I do have some key and fobs, I’ll put them up in a sale and, even an OG Datsun one, threw that in for fun. If you see a fob you need, pm me these are all brand new.

I’ve never seen a gold key. Not saying you didn’t get one but since I’ve been involved with Infiniti (1992) we never had gold keys. What dealer did you purchase your car from?

Gold keys were available for 1990s only in the US. Along with JDM Q45s in japan. I can take pics...

Yeah I don’t believe any of that hold to be factory. We and several other dealer had machines that we were able to “dealer install” gold kits. We would plate antenna masts, Infiniti logo’s, grills and the alpha-numeric names of the car. Basically a thing chrome some clients in he 90’s wanted gold

Thanks for chiming in ace. I had assumed all the gold accoutrements were USDM dealer installed stuff. To confirm the OP there was an actual gold plated key available JDM side...

Perhaps via JDM but as US spec cars we didn’t get a lot of features that the “President” got in Japan. Mostly due to cost and regulations and legal litigious reasons here in the USA.

What does your Monroney say about the gold? I did see cars with gold accents come in the shows, thinking back , I can’t remember factory or dealer. I do have a keychain with gold logo on for you.
I was lucky to get the Monroe you and most of the factory paperwork, we used to put the trunk badges on the wheel stands, Nissan supplied up with them, when we stopped they were all pitched, I have a stack of Q’s and J’s. I didn’t save all the cars.
I won’t mention names, one factory guy gave me a Car cover with the logo on for my car.
My car didn’t have the CD player, I found one on the shelf in the Philly region, I got it for a deal. There’s a whole story with that but I won’t go into it here. Lol
I have a pic of me and my crew on the Turntable with a new 95 Burg Q. I liked doing the Boston show, always grabbed it. Looked forward fir the chowder, lol

Back in the early-mid 90s I worked in the service dept. of Culiver Infiniti in Phoenix, which became Midway Infiniti later on. The gold plating was a common add-on for people wanting something different - whatever existing chrome parts the customer wanted to be gold were plated while on the car, as there were no gold plated trim pieces available. The same subcontractor who did all the pinstriping and trim work for the bodyshop had a gold plating machine and could plate as many trim items on the car as the customer desired.

That is very cool. The auto show cars were ordered by the region and shipped to the dealers and the dealers then took them to the auto show venue. After the show the cars were divided and given to the local dealers to sell. Sadly, I don’t have the Monroney for my car. That’s very cool you got a car cover with the Infiniti logo. You wouldn’t happen to have a Q45 “t” rear spoiler letter for sale would you? I’m in Detroit so it’d be easy to get.

My car was from midway, it must have come from a pool of lease turn Ins, i have paperwork from of of the Carolinas where it was a lease. No heated leather, no CD until I added it. The old dealership here tried to hose me installing it. He wanted $350 to install. I called back to the dealer I bought it from, the guy laughed. He said to pull a panel and remove the trunk mat, the 2 bolts were rite where he said they would be. He said the cars were wired at the factory fir a phone and CD player. A few years later, their franchise was pulled. They still sell Porsche’s.
These cars also came w/ a plastic card, the size of a credit card, it was in the owners manual kit. With a Pen , I have some spares if your is missing.

I can’t remember if the 90-93 came with that “wallet credit card key” or not. What do you have spares of? The grey Infiniti pens?

I’ve got a big tub of odds and ends. I didn’t want to keep putting stuff up for sale, that’s not why I joined, but like me, wanting a few PCs, you can’t get this stuff anymore.
I have some brochures from most years.
