there is not such thing as a h22 thats not equipped with vtec. and if you read my post you would have a good understanding of where you stand. if its a si h23 lude youre talking about, it will be a real close race. im putting my money on the lude.

raced a 98 lude in my s13 with a few bolt ons, i had him off the line, probably because of my stage 5 clutch.. but he pulled away quick, and vtec just owns meh

I raced a boosted dc2 integra with my dohc coupe. All I have is a header and coilovers if hat helps at all. I pulled away surprisingly til half of 3rd then he walked right on by me.

mods need to lock this thread. it's not going no where. a single slammer will not hold up an H22A1-A4 series.

Man no need to be like that this thread is interesting its suppose to be fun why ruin it for people who have opinions i like hearing what people have done and raced and things of that sort so need to ruin it for everyone.

^ x2. i race just for the hell of it, almost like i was born to, not because i know that i will win, or that i should win. i raced a '97 civic hatch with an LS engine w/ intake and exhaust. we ran about 3 times and it was close each time. 1st time he had me by about 2 car lengths, 2nd time i had a misshift, and 3rd i took him on top end when we decided to go all out. IMO, racing should not just be in straight lines, but with everything a long and winding road has to offer

I sold my 97 prelude when I bought my 240. The prelude was pretty quick for a stock daily car especially on the highway. I raced a sti one night and we were dead even tell we both let out. My 240 would get slaughtered against the prelude. I love the lines of the 240 and the RWD factor but stock power is just not there. It would take a decent amount of money to make the 240 as fast (and stay reliable) as the lude.

doesnt take much money to make the thing faster than a prelude. you can buy a decent shell for $500, source a motor/transmission, some sr injectors, side mount, and turbo, get some oil lines and manifold/downpipe, and tune the thing for about $1500 -$2k depending on how you do the tune, and you've just spent $2000 maybe $2500 in total for a 13 second 240 ka-t. now how much would a 97 prelude in decent condition go for with 100k miles on it, $5k? maybe $4k? and what do they run, 16's?

some hondas have serious balls. theres a boosted b16 civic hatch here making 300 at the wheels. another integra that my friend owns and he outpulled a cobra with a t2 at 7 lbs. back when i had the DE in the 240 i outpulled my friends 300zx off the line who was making 210 at the wheels but when i shifted he was stilling revving up to 8g lol and passed me.

Who knows maybe he will miss a gear and BAM......

That is what drag racing is about too, making precise moves and shifts.

That is how i look at it though.

As long as you are being safe and having fun, you can not go wrong.

Make losing look good going down that track though !

Good Luck,

Ghasty

you can make anything fast. i have tons of friends with fast hondas in the 10-12second 1/4mile range. well, mostly 12's but some are faster. but what the hell could be fun about a FWD car? and not to mention for MUCH LESS MONEY you can make a 240 that quick, as i was saying above. no ones sayin you cant make them fast. last time i was at the strip, there was a hyundai elantra that ran 10's. it was converted to AWD and a talon tsi motor was thrown in there with a giant turbo, and obviously a ton of other work. i've seen busses do wheelies. with the right money and motivation, you can do anything to any car.

It will come down to driver. It is very possible for you to beat him. I bought a stock 89 from some old lady and outran my friends 93 dohc. His had no sunroof and crank windows and mine was a se. Even if you do get beat it will be fun racing. Also you will when by default cuz hes got a fwd honda. Like fighting girl!
