yeeaaaaaah....there's VERY few performance parts available for the Z series. I don't think you'll find much more than maybe a mild street cam that's off the shelf anymore.

True, but the Z24 did share some likeness with the KA24E. For building you may be able to mod the block to run KA-E parts.

I would start by looking through some of our sponsors. Frsport.com, and Enjuku raing have been very good to me. I would do some research in the Old Datsun Trucks area, as well as the other truck forums.

If you are looking for anything over 180 whp, you will need to turbocharge. For that little building is required. I would refresh everything inside the engine, and swap to fuel injection intake manifold from an SOHC KA, or a blow through carburetor. Get ARP head studs and an OE Nissan head gasket, and go to town.

both the Z and the KA share their lineage off the L series.

But to get the power OP is looking for, it's not gonna be cheap with that motor.

If you're looking for 300hp, I'd start looking at some swap options.

The Vert had 390 whp. :gapteeth:

Seriously though, 15 lbs of boost and upgraded motor mounts would probably do it.

Doubt the z24 would get 300hp easily.

Fab an intake and megasquirt. would make turbo happen easier. unless you know a bit about blowthrough carb setups.

Built turbo KA swap would be the easiest way to 300hp in a 720 and still staying in the family. V8 would be the other easy way.

Its 8 plugs for 4cylinders, which means performance wasn't really the goal of this motor and truck. It is a HEMI tho, and it only has 2valve per cylinder.

Z24 is a PITA I've found so far, swap it. I'm sitting here wishing I had a KA.
