I will reserve my final judgement for after in person but I think a flat black wrap would have been the best choice.

My guess would be both hinged at the outside corner of the windshield wiping inward toward the center...

You forgot to mention that WHILE I was pulling the hood some jack-hat backed into the trailer practically sending me off the other side...
