Re: Pics

NICO does not permit you to attach photos to posts... at least not right now. You will have to upload them to a photo hosting service like flickr or photobucket.

Unfortunately we are having issues with linking photos from other websites right now. It should be fixed soon.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay with my follow up. The tires I was waiting for are still on national back order and might be for a while, so I had to go with an alternative. Instead of the Yokohama Parada Speck-X I ended up going with the Nitto NT 420S in the same 255/40/20 size.

This is what it looked like before:

This is what it looks like after:

To me it was worth the wait but what do you guys think?

I like the similar matching indigo blue highlights on the wheels. Definitely eye-catching and it made your Nissan Rogue very unique.

Congratulations! Great mod! :yesnod

I am certainly noticing the bumps in the road a lot more now. Although i have not taken it out on the freeway to experience the difference at high speed at moderate and lower speed the difference in responsiveness is clear.

I have a question for either of you EDDNOG or Phillipa_240sx. When i start up i am hearing a rattling noise that sounds like it is coming from under the hood. At my last visit to the dealership i mentioned it and the rep did not hear it but when i was leaving i heard it and pointed it out to him. He told me it was coming from the heat shield under the vehicle that was loose. He told me it was not serious and could be fixed when the vehicle returns for it's next service.

My question is is this something i need to be concerned about taking care of before going on a long trip? Also is it worth the $60 for them to tighten or is it simple enough that i can do it myself and save that money for the chrome door handles and door trimmings? I am not really a do it yourself-er especially when it comes to my vehicle. But if it is not too involved i can do it myself. I would honestly appreciate your opinion. I guess i am having a difficult time understanding why tightening this shield is a $60 job all by itself.

Noise for 1-5 seconds on startup is normal. Read more here:

That heat shield is on my hit list too, I hate it, it rattles like crazy and this past winter got bent and consequently on a long road trip would intermittently rattle against the exhaust or frame like crazy, it hurt our ears and it was a nightmare trip. I bent it back into place with my fingers, it's very flimsy and not secured well at the end. I've considered hacking the end off but before I do I'll have Nissan check that all he welds are in tact at my next visit this month.

There isn't anything you can tighten on that heat shield, it's welded in place, although like I said the leading edge towards the front of the vehicle can get bent and need to be bent back. I'd let them have a look and see if one of the welds broke, but be ware it could get noisy on a highway trip. If this happens, just look under the vehicle, you can see it and reach it with your hand without jacking the car up (if a weld is broke, this won't help however). If it's bent, i.e not parallel front/back, you can easily straighten it out. Not a great solution but if you're on a road trip and the noise is driving you nuts, you'll be wanting to try whaterver you can to shut the noise up! Good luck.
