17" Steel rims for Rogue SL AWD

All,I have a 2009 Rogue with the 17" alloy rims and I'd like to put on steel rims for the winter. My dealer says they cannot get a 17" steel rim from Nissan and when I asked about after market, I was told that I prob could not get one to work with the tire pressure sensors. Is this accurate?Anyone have experience with the alloys in winter driving ? I'm in NS and we tend to get hit pretty hard sometimes...

You can get 16" steel rims. These come standard on the S model so it fit fine for the SL models as well.

They're less expensive than the 17's and also cheaper on tires

You can also consider getting 16's if you're not having luck with the 17's.

I am using my 16 inch winter rims and tires that I had on my 07 Altima. You don't need to use the TPMS if you don't want to, but the light will be illuminated on the dash. I just used the light to remind me that I had the winter tires installed.

Yes, many Rogue owners have been using 16" rims with 215/70R16 winter tires(OEM Rogue S tire size). The '02-09 Altima is a good source for used 16" steel rims. It's what I use.

baz, IMHO you got the right idea for the TPMS sensors: Don't bother with them for winter tires/rims. The TPMS light will come on and that's it. Drivability is not affected and the light will go out when you reinstall the OEM tires/rims (with TPMS) in the spring. No need to reset it, visit the dealer to clear it, etc.

I got SL AWD as well with 17" alloys and just recently got winter tires with rims. i found on craigslist some 16"x6.5" alloys from and old nissan 240sx
