I am thinking about putting 17inch wheels on my 94q, but am concerned about any possible negative results of doing so.

Could those knowledgeable in these types of things please give me some advice.

Thank you in advance

17s with 245/45/17 or 255/45/17 (I think) seem to be about golden for 94 Q...... Although, 16in seem to be about the best for Q..... 17s are a good choice though....

Be careful when buying rims..... If you get cheapo ones, they will bend very easily, as most arent designed for the Qs weight......

If you get them from http://www.tirerack.com , be sure to use the links given here, as you get discounts..... Plus, all the rims they mention on their website will meet or exceed all OEM load capacaties and stuff like that......

I personally would recommend getting some infiniti take off rims..... I personally like the new Q rims or the G35 rims......

Just make sure whatever rims you decide to get, you have good tires to match it......!

Welcome to NICO.....!

17 inch work well o a Q45.

Many feel 18's are too much.

Also there is good selection in performance tires for 17's.

Also:

A very popular wheel among the congnoscenti are the 16x8 rear wheels of the early 90 Nissan 300ZXTT, Very strong + good round out specs.

Its easy to accomplsih a wheel tire combo of good load rating with those wheels.

Also many cutsomers of new Infinitis get custom wheels put on so many dealers have in stock so-called take-off's:OEM wheels that will be much cheaper than usualy yet still comply to teh tough regs of an OEM wheel..

Look just like all the wheels on the 1990-1996 300ZX. Rear TT wheels are an inch wider, so 1/2" more rim to the outside of the wheel.

That is indeed one. Left front, I think. Looks like they were driven through rocks with no tires, though.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

I have 245/45/17's on mine. They and the rims were on it when I got it. If I had to do it all over again, I might, might go 16's, but from what I've seen posted here it may be harder to get 16's with the "correct" load rating.

If you're on a limited budget, spend the same money on 16's rather than trying to queak 17's into the same budget. Better rims (lighter stronger) are the best thing, regardless of size.

:( I don't know what they are, trust me I've looked for any markings that would help me figure out, and posted this pic before to see if anyone would recognize, but no luck.

Don't be surprised that most used even oem wheels are out of spec as they only were designed to last 60k in average driving. The uglier/thicker the better..........the current trend towards prettiness has significant downsides.

Same with lighter duty G35 wheels the weight and camber take their toll when used on Q.

Measure a few early Q t 15" wheels - these FULLY forged unit are still perfect after all these years........but they ain't pretty.

I'd suggest trying to find some 10th anniversary take off's. Big (fat) 5 spoke 17's.

These are nice looking wheels. I had them on my Anniversary Q. However, you should probably acquire them with caution. There was a factory recall on these wheels. Anybody know how to tell the good ones from the bad?

At the time I bought my 94 Q new, the factory Q wheels were pretty ugly, in my opinion. I didn't want to go aftermarket, so I opted for a set of J30 chromed take-offs. Probably not the way to go today, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Never saw another Q done that way. Sorry for the poor quality of the pic. A scan from a beat up photo.
